So....rather than a tail issue.....it turned out to be a rotor head problem....

And best of all, the issue has been solved?....

Way to go....and you also have an extra torque tube...just in case...

Perhaps Amain will allow you to exchange the new TT for later credits?....worth a call....

With hard dampers, the low head speed can (and did) on my 600 ESP cause the tail to bob up and down. Like you, all it took was to go to a higher head speed.

Softer dampers and lower available head speed go together. This project sounds like you are designing your own heli. Good luck.

Amains says the TT is within tolerances. I am not gonna waste my time. RR has the best/smartest folks on solving problems helicopter related.

The Align head was put on a Raptor 50 titan nitro. It is smooth, just flew it a short time ago in my yard.

I am suspecting, it was a low head speed.

If I want to fly the align head on the 600esp, it is best to install a 11T pinon.

TT seems to work, but I don't like 2 to 3 thou offset. It is the machine part on the end of the TT. The TT is flat, rolls flat.

I will fly the 600ESP until it balls up then buy SAB 570 helicopter.

Personally I am moving on to other brands. My raptor 50 titan with 4 extra kits are good for a few years. I am just wanting to learn electrics and flybarless system. Better Lipo packs will be coming out soon. Good things are happening in electrics.

I appreciate all of your help, you people are fantastic!

Dampers hard....I struggled and learned the old hard fashion way of doing everything. I wished I would have known before.

I will back Amain here also, That has to be the straightest TT I have ever seen.
With a spline at one end, a bearing in the middle and you have that small amount of runout sticking that far out from the supports is actually kind of amazing.

I have a G770 and the tail oscillates up and down with the HS too low. BUT, the more I checked it, the heli actually "toilet bowled" in a circular motion but the tail showed it more because of how far it sticks out. If I watched the skids close enough, I could see the swirling motion.

Anyway, That TT is golden.

What I suspected, just the machined end.

In any event and not mentioned is to just switch TT end to end (180°) so you have the "I don't like 2 to 3 thou offset" end towards transmission side versus tail rotor.

If anything just to verify if it works and really not become another "paperweight" part.

I did exactly what u described. The whole helicopter was buzzing and wobbling like a fish out of water. I need to buy a go pro to record stuff like this. You guys would be, why are you flying this! Buy a new kit!

The only reason I was determined to make this POS a flyable machine. The reason being, the original seller pissed me off with his lies.

Found another issue

It is potentially dangerous. I am ready to buy a kit. The 600esp needs new frames and a frame brace. Now I know why align went with 3 bearings on the mainshaft. My 600XL got so much torque to flex the frames, more than I am comfortable with!

If any one got a Raptor 50 titan electric conversion, pls point me there. Otherwise, I am gonna retire the machine, not worth spending more money! *sigh*

It is okay, I learned a lot! You can't put a dollar amount on knowledge!

Sounds like my flying "style".....

I don't think you need to worry about whatever "frame flex" you're seeing! You've spent a LOT of time getting this thing flyable..... just go fly it and have fun !

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

I like a good crashed heli pic as much as the next guy, but...
I had a friend that had helis for years and never flew any of them. We are no longer friends but will spare you all those details.
Fly your heli and if you crash, weather you crashed it or the frame flexed too far and crashed it, let me know and I'll send you a set of 600 blades, then you just need to find a X50 kit and build a new heli.

Mighty nice of you my friend! Any chance you make trips to AZ?

Ah, just flew the helicopter...trying to trim out all the issues. Works well, guess I will fly it! Problem is, I have the dreaded disease called the "Heli-Bug". I want to buy a new kit, I have 5 helicopters here!

I even have the X50 raptor titan new in box unassembled.

I need to be careful not to over spend!

Do you know how to make the helicopter float before you land? Is that expo on pitch curves?

My X50 is nitro, any chance you can convert it to electric?

I have never stopped in AZ. But possibly can next summer as I move back to IL.
I don't know about the float part. I run a straight linear pitch curve and don't use expo. I think once you fly something long enough, you make it do what you want easier. But I do like my planks to nosedive a little when landing, I like it more because I feel imcomfortable pushing the nose down when that low to the ground. So if I leave the elevator in the neutral position it starts nosing down. I don't know how to get you set up for your floating before landing.
I do have a spare X50E motor mount. Don't know all the differences between the E and N. version. It might just bolt right in??? I would imagine the frames are different as I have a large opening at the skids for the batteries. Doube the nitro would be the same, it has to hold the tank somehow.
Good luck and happy flying, let us know how it goes and if you get it to have that float feeling.
