I had one a few years back.

Steering servo is pretty weak.

They are impossible to drive on 6s.

Might as well plan on locking the front and rear diffs if you want to run it fast.

My plan was to try and crawl around a bunch of rocks I have in the woods, its not good for that. Im glad I bought it used and sold it shortly after I didnt lose much$$$$

Ok thanks, the tyres comes loose at high speeds and they say a sway bar is needed for the back, will have a look at the Losi dbxl E instead.

I also had issues with the wheel nuts loosening for some reason. Wrecked a rim and learned to check them every run. The losi will be bigger but should be a nice machine

Whats the concensus on the Axial Jeep Wrangler SCX10?

http://www.axialracing.com/products/ax90028

Been told its the cats meow in the scale side of things

Or the Redcat Rockslide Super Crawler?

Not scale but I do like the 4 modes steering. I've played with this one and leaning towards it. It is really slow and has some serious clearance.

I was looking for something thats pretty fast and can handle a bit of rough ground,I thought the Yeti would be the one,one thing I cant understand when these models are made surely its basic commonsense for the manufacturers job to test run the cars, it looks like the Traxxas are the leading brand,the X Maxx and the E Revo look ok, the E revo pricey for the size.

Check out the ARRMA Kraton v2. Very economic, rugged, and fast truck.

I have a Vaterra Ascender and my buddy has the SCX10 2. I think both are capable but the SCX10 comes with nicer shocks and greater aftermarket support.

I have the older Wrangler version. Its exactly what I wanted it to be, pretty fun out of the box but there is room for upgrades. I have never had any catastrophic failures of the drive line. What I am left with now is a heavily upgraded machine that is insanely capable on the rocks.

Hard to go wrong with traxxas! awesome trucks and they have huge supply of parts online and most hobby stores carry parts as well.

SCX10 Best Scale crawler truck I have owned.

I have heard the same thing with the Yeti XL that they don't handle good at high speeds. I bought a Losi Rock Rey, which is basically the same setup just smaller scale and it doesn't handle great either but still a fun truck!

This Traxxas slash is crazy fast on 3s lipo, I have yet to try the 2s, not sure which is the fastest,3s 25 c 5000 mah or 2s 60c 5000 mah, calculation shows the 2 s.

I thought the 2s with high C rating would have given more punch than the 3s with low C rating but no way the 3s is seriously fast.

C rating takes second place to voltage in "punch", always.

I thought the one with the highest watts would have come out the fastest,in theory the 2s would be the winner,but in my case its not

7.4x40x5=1480 watt
11.1x25x5=1387.5 watt

That is not how you measure battery power. And C rating does not contribute to overall energy available, only how fast it can be used.

I tried finding an article to better explain this, but right not I cant seem to locate one!

In short, more voltage gets you more RPM.

Take the KV of your motor and multiply it by voltage to get a rough estimate on RPM. Assuming you use the same gearing the 3s will always be faster. C rating has no effect on this
