MSH has been around for a while since about 2006 ish they just released a new nitro.

They release software updates fairly regularly and firmware updates as needed .
They still update and support the older V1 ikons and brains and have a new version as well

I have three ikons and 2 brains and now my mini V pro & SK540 collect dust

Decisions
Reading the IKON/Brain forums. Looked at Vbar forum; not much activity. Hope Ronald is still around for Vbar help.

Seems Ticdoff is the master for IKON/Brain.

Back to my research....

Thanks again RR guys.

The JR Americas servo stock is building back up currently. I know that they just recently received a shipment of items including servos. I am not sure if you are looking for a particular servo but I can tell you for certain that the stock quantities are starting to build back up. Along with Heli parts that have been long overdue.

Team JR Americas, Team HeliDirect, Team Synergy U.S.A.

JR Servos
Larger plankers at my club complaining that they can't get servos.

I still use the 8917HV as my goto for cyclic servos. If I have a lil extra on a build maybe the 8717hv.

JR makes Great servos!

Merry Christmas to me.
Bought a couple IKON2s. Will pull my Skookums and start over.
Very excited about getting my 700s back in the air.

**Our club was developed outta of existence. We made a deal with our park and recreation group and have a great facility now that even has power.

Ready to get back to my obsession.

Mary Crismus,

I read the OP. I started with the Blade400 like you did. I still have not stopped cussing at that helicopter. I hate them with a passion. RTF right out of the box, my azz. More like RTC (ready to crash).

OK, I know now what I know now. It was my fault, everything was my fault. I did not know how to build and I did not know how to fly. Well, the sim taught me to fly and the generous nature of one guy rendered a flyable helicopter into my hands. Youtube and a lot of videos helped, but one guy took pity on my sorry azz and got me the final yard and into the air.

I still cuss the Blade helicopters, out of spite.

I hope someone out there can find that guy.

Very cool, you'll enjoy the Ikon. It's really nice, has the best nitro governor I've used, makes it work like an electric, flip out of hold and it spools up smoothly. Great setup.

WHAT! Have you read the Skookum subforum on HF. It is full of very unsatisfied people with poor customer service stories.
If you have a line to Alvin, send it to me. There is a guy having trouble and is getting nowhere with Skookum. I'll pass on the info so he can get his heli in the air.

I have found my FBL unit brand it's ikon and msh.

The sk540 when it first came out was pretty awesome. It was very tunable and fairly user friendly. Unfortunately they stopped developing it and customer support became stagnant.
Luckily MSH stepped up with a better unit, continuous development and decent customer support.

I would like to think if skookum had continued to develop their products then MSH would have serious competition.

IMO MSH/ikon doesn't have any competition at their price point.

I sold my Skookums also. I just never got my head around their vocabulary and programming. My setups always felt like I was the blind squirrel looking for a nut. Sometimes I found one but was never really sure how.

When I left Skookum I made a commitment to Futaba's CGY750. I now have 4 of them installed. While I like the 750 (a lot), I'm at a loss as to what they are doing. The US importer has dumped them and the "new" 760 is just barely spy shots and rumors. Who "discontinues" a key product without so much as a press release for it's replacement? I realize we can still get 750s from Japan but if they are soon to become legacy products, do I need to keep buying them?

"Well, Nothing bad can happen now."

Dont know if this helps
I got started into helis this last summer, I have flown beastx, ikon, and vbar (silverline) and so far the easiest are vbar and ikon with Vbar being the easiest and Ikon right behind it. Not good enough of a pilot to tell the difference in the air but beastx with its push button interface and the studio x software just takes too much back and forth between software and the unit to setup. And with me being color bling the blinking color lights are problematic.

So far I like VBar the best. My friend flys the Demon Axon and I am trying to talk myself into buying one to test. But think I am don't with beastx just due to the ease of setup.

My radio is spectrum sats on nitros and gassers.

NX4 - gasser
NX4 - nitro
NX7 - nitro
X5 - gas fire gen set to charge 6S bats <- does that count as a gasser?

Not sure this helps.

Skookum support
Ok hope this helps, I contacted Alvin, got a reply within 5 minutes, any problems email questions to alvin@skookumrobotics.com, what problems is your friend having?
I have 4 of their units. One wouldn't allow an update. Said to contact customer support. I emailed them with the unit number and have not heard back to this day. When I built my first 700, I loved them. The JR sats connected direct and the Wizard weren't the worst. Got my TTe 720 in the air without drama.

When I built my first Nitro is when I became annoyed by their lack of response from the website.

Alvin did contact me on HF site with some tips, but I didn't realize he was their US support team.

They still have ramp up issues on the governor and don't mesh well with the xbus receivers.

Thanks for the input, but I think that ship has left the harbor.

The metal IKON looks a lot like the Skookum and has Bluetooth.
I just want my big birds back in the air.

Thanks again for encouragement.
