Microdosing. The below article from the Financial Times.

Apparently there is a measurable portion of the population that believes that LSD, taken several times a week in small doses, helps them be more creative.

While I'm unprepared to say if they are right or wrong, it may explain why I see so many people as so *ucked up. Increasingly I can't understand how other people look at the same world I live in and come up with such different ideas.

Possibly it's because I'm not on acid.?.?

I might add I consider the FT a reliable news source.

IMHO LSD by what I have learned from soldiers that I had to deal with is alot like alcohol... it simply intensifies your already existing personality and shuts down the portion of the brain in control of morals, judgment and self doubt.

So basically LSD magnifies who you really are on the inside, brings out your worst demons and fantasies all at the same time.

first let me tell you that my brother (may he rest in peace another 40 years) and his friends played with LSD many times, and I have talked to them about it, and I have read up on it too, so I know a bit more about it than it just makes you see things that are not there,,

in short, inducing hallucinating is one part of it, , it also opens your mind to thinking in other ways, note that I did not say new ways,, when connecting the unconscious mind to the conscious mind you learn things that your unconscious mind hides from you,,, example, read up on the "Child Victim of Narcissistic Parents", a young child that has been treated so baldly can close it's mind to questions of why it is treated in such a way, this is so the child can cope and move on,,,, in these cases the child's unconscious mind holds the truth, while the conscious mind moves forward,, edited> you see, when you are 4y.o. don't ask questions and you wont come to understand the ugly truth that your mommy and daddy don't love you,, or why you are raped 3 times a week, well the unconscious mind wont allow the conscious mind to see the truth at that young age, <in the end this is one example why some people have more than one personalities, or anger, and why their parents are Narcissists in the first place,,

today, in some states LSD is being tested legally under a doctor's care, some of these people that have taken it have opened there minds to disturbing questions of their younger days,, and some of these people have reported that after years and years of torment they have come to have peace with themselves, and it was the LSD that helped them

an as for Olson, most likely they gave him 10 times the normal dose,,

I have thought of this article often since reading it several weeks ago. It concerns me there are people that believe they are enlightened to a higher contentiousness by taking hallucinogens.

There may be a place for the clinical use of LSD. I'm certainly am not in a position to judge. As my parents used to say, "A place for everything and everything in its place". What I am certain of is if you believe you are somehow enlighten beyond the capabilities of us mere mortals by taking LSD 3 or 4 times a week in your morning coffee before going to work, you are literally and metaphorically deluding yourself.

Ironically, if you want to take acid recreationaly, I'm not here to tell you how to live your life. If, however, you believe it's connecting you to an elevated plain that I can't see, you're simply stoned. The arrogance to suggest that I'm the one with a mental issue because I'm "disconnected from my unconsciousness" and that those taking acid are the true thinkers of our day is too much.

"all" the people I have talked to that took LSD back in the late 60s and early 70s only took it a given amount of times, and then they never took it again,, you have to ask, if it's sO great why did they stop taking it, I truly believe that the ones using it today in microdoses will sooner or later ether up their dose or stop using it

^^^^ it was fun, I enjoyed it. But like lots of things you do in your youth, you outgrow it. Ecstacy is very similar.
Same thing....you do it enough (for some it's 1 or 2 times, others it's a few dozen times), you move on.
It certainly isn't like opioids etc, as far as the tendency to get hooked.

and coffee, my wife's friend got off coffee, 2 weeks later she was back on it and said "I will never do that again. I will never stop drinking it again"
