keep in mind that Halt and Catch fire is a TV series somewhat based on the computer revolution... it is not however a word per word account. The series is simply tries to link what is going on today with what may have been alluded to in the past, so what a character "said" on the show vs what was actually happened more than likely has been altered to sound more prophecy fulfilling by the writers at the encouragement of the producers and wink of the executives simply to and make the show more interesting.

But this stuff is also like saying there will be a female president.... or we will be living on Mars... well no $hit, one day provided we dont all kill each other first and if we do kill our selves, then no one cares about such a prediction cause no one will be around in the first place.

Keep in mind that it is also a well accepted fact that the first internet transaction happened between Stanford University and MIT sometime between 1971 and 1972 to buy some weed via ARPANET, the precursor to the internet we know today all by these so called righteous nerds... so they created it and the very first thing they did with it was conduct an illegal transaction for a controlled substance...

and they are warning US about it? gimme a break.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Comprehension required
Not Weed.
You ever read what you post?

So depending how you slice it, the first internet transaction could have involved pizza, weed, a CD or computer parts

"Disproven - Not Weed."

Inconsequential, at best.

That Berners-Lee developed TCP/IP....and the competition of browsers started by Andreeson at Netscape is much more instrumental than some yahoo selling some BS via the internet.

And then, using CGI to develop chat software, ramps that up a notch or three.

All that occurred long before internet sales....

I would like to add - " beware of ladies with painted faces. "

My Dad warned me about them. Very wise man.
