Stopped at a buddies house tonight and saw that he had a 450X and we got to tinkering with it as he has no clue how to fly or set a heli up. I am a bit rusty myself with all this new technology. Heli is using a DX8 radio and an AR7200BX receiver I believe is what it was..... When you tilt the helicopter forward the swash moves forward, when you tilt it to the side the swash moves in the same direction that you tilt it. It reacts just the like gyro on the tail. I assume this is part of the flybarless system? I killed his blades because I didnt realize this was happening on the bench. I went through all the settings and I cant figure out how to stop it or make it compensate in the opposite direction.

I also noticed that when you move the cyclic, it takes forever to return back to center. I have never seen this before, im used to older flybar setups where it goes back to center when you let off the stick.

The swash type is also set for single servo? per the instructions. Why is this not set on 120 degree CCPM or 135? What helis run on 135? just curious....

What size blades does this heli use and who has the cheapest parts? Im gonna order him a set of blades, mast and feathering shaft.

Almost all the setup and the control of the servos is done by the BeastX part of the 7200BX. Your sticks now only request a roll rate on 3 axis. That is why it is set to single servo - The BeastX needs to see the individual inputs, not some mix.

In the instructions, there are steps, in order A through N that do the setup that you are used to. Some of the things specified are the swash configuration, servo limit, reversing and so forth. It is important to complete all the steps and in the recommended order. When you are done you should have a good flying heli (assuming correct mechanical assembly).

If you have problems with individual steps, I am sure you will be able to get help here. Another good source may be YouTube videos on BeastX setup.

Wasnt much on youtube. I did see 1 video from Horizon/E-Flight about setting up the Beast and it seemed pretty easy but I saw nothing about reversing any of the settings.

When you get to step E, you will reverse the direction of the rudder in the radio, if necessary to make the tail blades move the correct direction (just like the old days) before setting the endpoints using the BX.

In step F you will make sure the BX is correcting the tail right. (Just like switching it in the gyro in the old days.)

In Step I, you will get the servos working together the correct way (like the CCPM mix the old way) and maybe reversing the pitch channel, aileron channel and elevator channel in the radio if necessary. (This is like choosing +100 or -100 in the CCPM mix menu the old way.) The simple way to think of this is that the whole point of choosing 1 of 4 possibilities in Step I is to get the 3 servos moving together when the pitch stick is moved. Once that is set right, reverse any of those 3 channels in the radio that is moving the swash in the wrong way.

Step L is setting the servo limits for the cyclic servos.

Step M is getting the cyclic compensation going the correct direction - definitely necessary, since you indicated that it is acting wrong currently.

Everything you expect to adjust is there it's just that some is in the BX and some is in the radio.
