My area was being over run with illegal lawn crews in the spring, summer, and fall.

It is amazing to see the lack of these guys now. Lawn grass is getting longer. Soon I expect to see these illegal lawn companies dissolve completely and see high school kids back in business.

Home builders are crying because their unlimited illegal workforce has been cut to the bone. The price of homes will be going up and the lead times will increase.

Anybody tired of the northern winters that is good at swinging a hammer can find all the work they want (legally).

Our schools had already been swamped by illegals' kids years ago. It will be interesting to see if this changes as quickly as lawn care.

The next big issue is the crimes committed by illegals. Our jails have been packed with illegals for some time. Hopefully we will see changes soon.

"unlimited illegal workforce has been cut to the bone."

And the building quality will improve with more experienced workers.

It was a strange sight to NOT see illegal lawn crews this spring. My wife and I had noted how the numbers kept growing each year.

Sometimes politicians take action and we, the people, really don't see the effects.

Home building isn't something I really take note of. I just read about the shortage of illegals.

But the lawn guys stick out like a sore thumb.

and some of these people may actually loose weight, not need to take diet pills, not see the doctor so much and save money on a gym membership they hardly ever use as the workouts will constitute taking care of their lawn...

OR

we can see a whole lot more maintenance free lawns like the natural look (we all have that one house in our neighborhood that does this ) , use the desert look, concrete the whole thing and paint it green... and the homes will be more modular and constructed in a factory and assembled on site will be the norm.

Oh God, we are doing things the right way... what are we to do now!?

And as result, the mower companies will have to increase production, more legal jobs created.

you'll likely also see a drop in burglaries... there have been cases where individuals use that job position as an opportunity it scope out targets as they get up close to the house and spot cameras, security systems, get to know the dog, schedules of homeowners, see if you have anything worth stealing etc.

happened a few times in my home town in south Texas...

Absolutely.....and it's not "there have been cases"....but rather than this is one of the prime ways of gathering intel for carrying out home burglaries...

And it's not that these people perform the burglaries....instead, they "report" their findings to those that do the job....to keep themselves from being "involved".....

This technique also extends to dubious "home contractors" that are let into people's houses to perform jobs.

And it's not just from illegals, either.

Life_Nerd,,, where did you get the idea I was an advocate for illegal Immigration?

Let me remind righties,, during Reagan's reign Republicans gave 3 plus million illegals amnesty . The 1986 IRCA opened the flood gate for Mexico. After Republicans gave Illegals amnesty, thousands started pouring over the boarder.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986 sounded good on paper, but it fell way short on enforcement and funding. The bill called for a 50% increase in Border Patrol Officers, but there was no guarantee for funding and the funding never materialized.

Employers were supposed to face penalties for hiring illegal immigrants, but there was little threat even if they were caught. Employers did not have to verify if the worker was here legally, documents workers provided were almost always fakes. Immigration officers could not enter a farm without a search warrant or the owner's permission.

Instead of stemming the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico, IRCA encouraged it. The Republican Party being the Party of Business, to appease Agri Business they removed from the IRCA new sanctions on employers and included a special amnesty provision for farm workers. Agri Business accomplished this by promoting the fear of a shortage of farm workers that would lead to skyrocketing prices for fruits and vegetables. Under this special amnesty provision all an illegal had to do was to prove that they had done farm work in the U.S. during the previous year. This provision required very little proof. As a result several million illegal immigrants applied for this amnesty. Most of them using phony documents in what has been called one of the greatest immigration frauds in American history.

Sorry djinni, you have no creditability.

You have shown nothing to indicate your support of the policies of Trump concerning illegals.

You just spin and deflect without adding anything of value...must suck to be you.

"I always like to remind "

Again, your knowledge of history is nil...on this subject...as on most.

The hoardes that you claim were already here....and were given a 1 time amnesty by Reagan...in exchange for the dems having stricter border controls.

The dems lied....and provided no such thing.

So, you lie....just like the dems......

Why do you lie like you do....when your lies are so easily exposed?
