So just as 3D TV's die out, i find myself wanting one. I picked up a Samsung 55" 3D TV on Ebay which uses those active shutter glasses. So i DL some 3D SBS movies and FPS games, fun, but i wanted to use my neXt heli sim on it. There are not many programs that alow you to do SBS side by side, but with some searching i found TriDef 3D for those wanting to do the same thing. It works really well. It definitely added new life into the same ol' same ol" sim..

Its all earth!

TriDef 3D allows you to turn most apps into side by side video (SBS), split screen. This is necessary for viewing in 3D on a capable 3D tv that is.
You can run games, goggle earth, pictures, even video with it.

It also supports VR. I "play" NeXt with a HTC Vive. The resolution is bad but it totally translate the sime to the real thing. You fly like you do on the field. You can follow the heli with your gaze like you do when flying the real thing.

It's the reason why no other sim comes clos to NeXt for me.

Wait who said 3D TV was dieing? I thought that was the new hotness in a home TV system? I never used my 3D feature or bought the goggles myself though.

That was what i thought until i became interested. Just as the technology gets somewhat pefected to the point some systems could be used without glasses, all the manufactures beginnig with Samsung stopped making them as of this year. Not one tv in the 2017 lineup has 3D. I actually think it works quite well with active shutter glasses.

I have had my Samsung 3d Plasma since 2005. Unfortunately the 3d never took off with people making the content. I think its a cool feature and dont mind wearing the glasses.
