I did nnot know that the event has turned into a vendor event. You know it's over when the people putting on the event are charging the vendors to get into the place. That is a shame.

Rpat,

Vendors have been charged to attend since the early 2000s. Their fees and sponsorship are what allow events to exist. All large events charge exhibitors. This is nothing new.

Port o Toilets

This was the first year of moving all food vendors to the center stage area. While pumping still occurred on the normal schedule, it was apparent on Sunday morning that the center stage port o toilets were used much more than in the past years.

The IRCHA staff realized that moving food vendors to center stage also moved the majority of toilet visits to center stage. Therefore the plan is already in place to double the number of center stage toilets in 2018.

Always fun to get to see new toys and old friends though.

I know a couple of the ircha staff that fly and really get into it. But its hard to work all day and fly at the same time.

Those complaining should come volunteer next year.

The guys in the primary IRCHA planning group do fly, but rarely at the Jamboree. It is just too busy. I usually try to put in one or two flights at the NATS and judge some if needed, another guy competes in the NATS, the others also fly.

One of the longest serving board members ran the NATS for 23 years...try that on for size. IRCHA is responsible for running the NATS, so that has always been a part of the organization. Historically speaking, the IRCHA Jamboree began as a more precision style event.

IRCHA has never been about personal profit. It is about volunteers that love the hobby, and as crazy as it sounds, they like to be part of an organization that hosts a large event.

Hope the event continues

With Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Golf cart sponsorships, and 50/50 payment/product you have to be a vendor to understand the opportunity verse ROI. So as the market continues to slow, the existing vendors have limited resources. Just like at shows you'd go to see all the cool new heli gear. How many vendors are present at these shows? Well these vendors are a big part of the attendance as they do pull loyal consumers to events and trade shows alike. Once the vendor looks at GMROI that's gross margin over ROI you have to make hard decisions. Innovate or spend on events and shows which one will provide profit.

Most vendors are not SIG and therefore cannot hold to we do it for the good of the community. Rather they do it to promote. But when the cost exceed the benefit a reduction is in order because it is a business.

Event location--SIG use AMA Field
Tents-rental cost from AMA
Insurance-cost for covering the event
Stand by medical--SIG
Marketing/PR for event via--Shows and events!(digital marketing)-SIG
Volunteers-guys who love the hobby+++++
Toilets--SIG
Food Vendors--%$ based on sold goods

Well you get the idea!

This would be a start...

QuickBooks Enterprise
http://enterprisesuite.intuit.com/

I laid off my bookkeeper years ago to cut costs. I personally run RR's books using QuickBooks Enterprise balancing them daily. Albeit easilier with much less cash flowing these days.

What he means is that the Treasurers report has to be made public and posted on the IRCHA site as per their own bylaws.

Is IRCHA a tax exempt organization?

If you want to learn more about IRCHA, you can do it the way I am...
I am getting involved, from everything I've heard there are some huge bills that come in. What would happen if for some reason they end up with a huge debt? Having some money put away I think makes IRCHA responsible not money hungry..

Not trying to poke the dragon Mark, but from your public discussion of RunRyder I'm not sure your the best person to take financial advice from..

All that's required is simple transparency. Personally I work hard and have never burnt any financial bridges.
