In my area where I live. It must be a super low priority to restore power during storms and power outages. After 5 years of experiencing outages every monsoon season and the worse one was nearly 40 hours. The average outages is anywhere from 2 to 8 hours.

I noticed a few weeks ago that Lowes was having some great deals on 10% off. Went down and picked up Champion generator with 50 amp plug.

Seems that ever since I bought my generator, I have not had a long power outage. 10-20minutes at the most. Those are not a big deal.

I have my power panel wired for emergency circuits. I only power certain circuits during a generator start. I really like the setup and it has kept away the power boogieman.

I had a power interrupt yesterday for a second, and again today.

I went almost two weeks one time and that made me purchase the generator. I cannot do that again. I also have small window AC units so that I do not have to power the entire cooling system.

I hope you have surge protector on your important electronics and appliances. Those quick on/off kills appliances.

After a hurricane a few years back, I was without power for 6 weeks(I live out in the country, so low priority in getting power lines back up). Fortunately I had a generator that could run lights, water pump, and my refrigerator.
I have a manual switch over circuit panel so switching to generator is simple and the circuits are individually selected one at a time. Also my gen is out in a separate building so I can't hear it and we are safe from carbon monoxide ..

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Do you use your generator to charge up your heli batteries?
