T-REX 700 › Trex 700E sold to me by local guy...need help

Local guy sold me a Trex 700E.

I was eager to get started on putting this machine back together. Turned out that I did not actually get a Trex 700E but a 600n stretched with 700 Boom and TT.

The guy refused to give my money back.

I am asking the RR family to help me figure out what to do with this machine.

I am kicking myself for being in a hurry to get back into the hobby. It has been nearly 10 years. Most people are honest in this hobby, I just happen to pick the wrong one!

To be short, any suggestions on fixing this? I really wanted the Trex 700E. I already purchased a few Trex 700 parts coming in the mail. A paper weight of stuff I can't use.

wow, how did you pay for it ? Credit card ? If so file a case. That is not right. If you payed more the $150 they really screwed you. Can make it work but not worth the trouble.

Method of payment was face to face....cash of $350. Yeah, I know I got screwed! I learned a good lesson from it. Unfortunately it will only cause me to deal with a few people from now on.

I can take him to small claims with all the data and ad's collected. It will cost me more to collect than taking the $350 loss and ask RR folks to help out on parts.

RR been pretty awesome!

Well I don't remember who use to make FBL's converse kits. Might of been Mikado. I have one somewhere in my junk pile, but without grips.

Looks to be the RJX 10mm main-shaft version.

Just be certain to double-check your main-shaft's diameter, IIRC there were (2) versions (10 / 12mm).

Update 1

I need an older manual for my 600E. Align has updated all their manuals. I can't find one for mine. Help anyone?

Big Thank you to Mike123! Align 600ESP manual!

Waiting for mechanical flybar installation by end of next week!

Little progress at a time. I had a setback last night breaking off a switch AUX 2 on my JR 10X. (Such a n00b I am!)

May just order a DX8 or DX9 later on today since it will be a 2 weeks turn around to repair JR 10X.

Moral of the story: When you are tired and trying to power through...this is the time to WALK away before you break something!

Manuals are available for download here ;

Are you looking for the measurements for the linkages (servo-wheels to the levers, levers to swash-plate, etc., .... (?))

Go to the http://www.aligntrexstore.com website, and along the top you will see a heading marker manuals/firmware. Click on that and then click on the volume 2 link in their manual library.

Look for the file KX016014T which will be for the 600 ESP.

I couldn't tell from your photo whether the "A" frame cyclic/pitch arm mechanism is inside the frames, but it appears that it will be your main issue in getting it built to fly, as Align doesn't show that part as available. Why, when they show the old plastic main bearing holders available, they don't show that elevator arm assembly, is beyond me.

Hope this helps.

Can't get Futaba S9451 servos in the framesdue to large deep servo tray

Any solutions besides installing big spacers?
Radio, CCPM and mechanical linkage solved but...I can't install my best servos by futaba!

DS610 and DS620 are currently installed.

Update 2

Making progress, a few set backs. I had to relearn negative swash settings in the DX6 G3. Thanks to Horizon.

Need bearing blocks plastic metal ones....the ones currently have 2 small stripped screws from over use of lock-lite material. Waiting on Futaba 9256 screws from Tower Hobbies. Waiting on Lipo purchases 6s soon. Someone forgot to put in the screws for the 9256 servo.

Lots of things to learn on dealing with helicopters. I am coming to the conclusion at tax return time. It may be best to retire the 600 ESP and buy a more updated helicopter new in box with flybarless system.

I did tweak the raptor 50 today and did enjoy that!

I currently have the EC3 connector on the ESC 100AMP, should I upgrade it to EC5?

Upgrading to EC5 has left my soldering tools obsolete!

After struggling for nearly 30 minutes, I realize I need extra heat. No, serious heat! Pondering my options, I decided to use the "Nucear Option"! Out comes Mr.MAP gas, that is used to weld water pipes around my house.

I hope the solder is good, since this is my first attempt. I needed something hot and quick.

If you think the solder is okay, if so I will heat shrink the wires and insert them into the EC5 connector! The wires are welded to the inserts, I can't tear them apart.
