Back to trade school !

I will be doing a series of videos explaining and visually demonstrating most if not all of the fundamental principles of engine operations.

I've been a qualified Mechanic since 1976 (the year before Elvis died)
I also have a black belt in 2 strokes so there may be the occasional 2 stroke porn shown in my series.

The videos will begin with the most basic principles then progressively
adding each layer of complexity to the degree that at some point some may reach their limit of what they can comprehend in the videos.

For example the specifics of standing modes of sonic compression and expansion waves in an exhaust and intake duct including advanced 2 stroke expansion chamber principles.

Many are the rudimentary principles that separates the monkey see monkey do mechanic from the fully enlightened that can diagnose and repair competently any engine they encounter with components they have never seen before.

If you want to be a better mechanic or better at "mechanics" you need to know these principles.

I will not be simply standing in front of a white board opening and closing my pie hole expecting everyone to believe what I am saying.
Each principle will be followed by a visual demonstration of that principle using test apparatus that anyone can make and use to verify or not the principles I cover.
There is no faith in my qualifications required.

I wont be posting the videos here other than this first one so if you want to see them then subscribe or check the channel if you feel inclined.

Interesting. You're never too old to learn something. Even if there is a possibility I already know what you are speaking on, it is always nice to hear it put another way.

Next video I cover the details and simulations of the Venturi effect with variants of symmetric and asymmetric diverging and conversing taper sections to pressure values.

Working on setting up Schlieren photography equipment for the visualization of gas velocity, boundary layers, sonic waves and heat radiation / convection, which should make things a bit more visually interesting.

A little food coloring in the water would have made the demo more clear, but it was great. Thanks.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Yeah need a bit of colored water, just didn't want to use something with any sugar or the like in it.
A lot gets spilled, Ill see what I can find.

I just uploaded and additional video to the last one.
Just adds a bit more context with images to show where the VP and SP ports are in various carbs and some notes about modifying bowl vents.

BTW feel free to hit the like button on the vids if you like, it helps.

What would you like to learn?

I love the limits of engineering, to the point no one else has been there yet.

Total time watched by all viewers so far is 17% of the first video.

Looks like a few people are going to fail the exams.

As a motor cycle mechanic for 45 years, I have never seen a carburetor like that on a motor cycle!

P.S. sorry for the spelling or the grammar I am dyslexic!
