I have an ar7110 rx I bought for a century model and am not currently using.
The combo kit for the 470L kit requires 7 channel rx (as we all know). Can I use that rx with the beast x that comes with the kit? The rx has a power lead but I'm thinking I wouldn't need to use the power lead and can clip them off?

If I can't use that rx, what rx are you guys using on those particular models?
I have 3 helis now that I'm using the ar7200bx and I do like that rx, I guess I can prolly go that route as well but I wanted to use the beast x that came with it.
Thanks!

The combo kit for the 470L kit requires 7 channel rx (as we all know).
1. throttle
2. Pitch (elevator)
3. Roll (aileron)
4. Yaw (rudder)
5. Rudder gain
6. Collective pitch

What is number 7?

The 4 with the 'bullets' are regulated at 5.2v, other channels are not

I would say you can use it with no issue at all.

Ok great, thanks.
I don't need the power leads I believe and can eliminate that no?

I did some follow-up investigation and found a 470L manual. It does need a 7 channel minimum TX/RX if you use the electronics supplied in the kit.

You may want to ask Spektrum about using the AR7110 without using the standard battery input leads, however. That may not be kosher.

Mea Culpa. Mea Maximus Culpa.

I've never done it, but I know a few guys that have run them via the ESC voltage supply and left the large leads unplugged or clipped them off ...for whatever reason.

I don't think that I would cut the battery leads off (just me). It is yours, do what ever.

I am using Spektrum receivers with my beastX FBL units. No reason this will not work with yours.

I am switching over to a 7 channel single line input Spektrum Receiver because I want the governor functions available on my BeastX Plus HD unit. I thought changing to that receiver was the least work and best result. You will see in the BeastX documentation (if yours has governor) that you cannot use a standard receiver for the governor function.

Thanks again guys. I normally don't use that type of rx but I have it so I figured if I can use it I'll at least give it a try anyways. But well see.
Appreciate the feedback

Use a volt/ohm meter to measure the resistance from the + battery lead to one of the non-regulated servo power pins.

Since the 5.2v regulated channels are throttle, gear, rudder and aux 2, measure the resistance on aileron, elevator, aux 1 (swash servos)

If you get 0 ohms, then I would say you can cut off the battery leads and power the AR7110 from one of the swash servo power pins.

You cannot power the AR7110 externally through one of the regulated channel's servo connector.
If the regulator has protection, it will not power up.
If the regulator has no protection, it will most likely smoke the regulator

HOWEVER...
According to the wiring diagram for the BeastX, connections from a "traditional" receiver (like the AR7110) require connecting several M-to-M cables from the receiver's servo ports to the BeastX first.

And that looks like it is going to mix some regulated channels (rudder, gear and aux 2) with unregulated channels (3 swash)

I would bet this will smoke the AR7110.

I would use the Spektrum DSMX satellites.
That will make a lighter and neater installation.

Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.
Fake News will be the downfall of our Republic!
