Just did a trade for a X7. I am pleased with how everything looks build wise.

It has aCastle Edge HV 120 ESC, Savox BSM-5065 500KV motor w/ 11T pinion, 100T main gear, Castle BEC Pro, AR7200BX, ProteckRC 250T cyclic servos, ProtekRC 250S tail servo, CY 700mm (I think, haven't measured them yet) mains and KBDD 105mm tail blades.

I got lipo's with it to run it on 7S (4000mAh) and 8S (4000Ah).

So I am trying to set it up. But I have not done much setups over the years. Always had my buddy, Brian set them up. I have never ran a heli over 6S. Do I need to do anything different or can I run it on any 3 setups? Can I run it on 8S with higher mAh lipo's? Will I get longer fly times?

I have already ordered a new 2S lipo to run all the electronics. I feel safer that way. I will clean up the wiring as I am OCD about wiring!!

Also I am no 3D pilot! I can go inverted for a short spell, but thats about it.

Ok so I guess I am making this confusing. I haven't set up heli's very much. I have owned several hundred of them and had them setup for me as I have a hard time remembering the details on setups.

From what I have now what is my best setup to go with? From what I have had in the past should it be ran on 6S? I don't plan on changing it to run different setups. Just want to get it so I can just fly with no issues.

Here's what I have:

Gaui X7 heli
Castle Edge HV 120 ESC
Spektrum AR7200BX
GensAce 2S 4200 Hardcase (For electronics)
Savox BSM-5065 500KV motor w/ 11T pinion
100T main gear
Castle BEC Pro
ProteckRC 250T cyclic servos
ProtekRC 250S tail servo
CY 690mm mains and KBDD 105mm tail blades.

I have a 3S & 4S GFORCE 30C 4000mAh matching lipo's for 7S that look new. Also have an unbranded 2S & 6S lipo's (Puffy real bad) for 8S. Also is it a good thing to do 2 lipo's and put 1 on each side for balance?

Thanks, Eugene

Im also just down in Topeka so if we need to meet up at some point we can do that as well. Look forward to hearing from you!

Servos mounted!!!

Servos set to neutral in the 3DIGI setup. Love these Xpert servo's!! They come with 2- plug in harnesses. That way you can choose the length you need instead of cutting wires!!

And no the wiring routing is not the finished product. Just ran for centering purposes.

And big thanks to Chad for his help and patience with me!!

Electronics done!!

Spent last night getting the wiring all done to my satisfaction!!

Have my new 2S Gens Ace 4200Ah lipo mounted underneath on bottom plate for electronics. And its a hard case so it can handle a crash without fear of bursting into flames!!

My Soko tool should be here tomorrow so I can get the head setup and hopefully get it flying this weekend! But dang its HOT here, close to or in the 100's all week and weekend!!

Looks pretty neat....

One suggestion, I would put a piece of heat shrink tubing (shrunk nice and tight) over any servo extension connection (s) you have .... I see at least one such connection zipped tied to the side of the frame.... That will prevent the connection from inadvertently pulling apart due to "whatever"...

Some use a piece of dental floss to "tie" the two together but I think the shrink tubing is much neater ....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Your rx battery is a rc car battery don't know if you want to trust having the binding posts upside down like that. Don't know how tight of a connection it is. I think it's meant to face up. Also rc cars don't have the vibration issues like a helicopter.

1st test!!

Man all I can say is this is a BEAST!!

Got it up and had to put it down, the sticks were to hot (sensitive). Destroyed a set of tail blades landing it in my grass, too thick. Went back into the 3DIGI software and turned it down a little. Put a new set of tail blades on and tried it again. Sticks are a little better, got it 15-20' in the air! Needless to say my pucker factor was off the charts!!! It hovers awesomely and the tail holds on a dime!!

I got rid of the Castle connectors as they were too tight and kept coming apart. I put EC3's on the Rx battery and 3DIGI, and 7MM AS150 connectors on the main lipo's and ESC!! Man they are awesome, no sparking!!

Also got RCBooya mounts, but ordered for the Formula, so had to order 2 long extensions.

Not sure if I will keep it, may be too much for me. It is truly 1 badass machine!!
