(I know Darrell has been very busy this season, so I thought I would help out by starting this thread for him!!)

Sept 6-9 this year....
Get those birds ready, it's coming up quickly..,
As in the past, for us early birds open flying through Wed 5th (planes, helis, or whatever you bring... Thursday the 6-9 scale helis ONLY!!!

If some of you could mention the motels that are stayed at, I am sure it will help some of the new pilots that want to attend..

I will leave the rest of the details like address and general info for Darrell to fill in..

This is the oldest and largest scale event in the USA... it's more like a large laid back family (that gets along!!! ) gathering.... so come on out and enjoy yourself....

Dates and other stuff

Hey, Stan!

Just verifying the dates 6-9 Sep is Weds-Sat, right? Also, I'm planning to take my motorhome - is there room on site or would I have to find an RV park nearby?

Thanks, and looking forward to my first Southern Scale Callenge event!

How many motor home sites?

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

We are in,

We missed last year due to moving. We pretty much settled now so really looking forward to this event this year.

Being of un-sound mind, we will be there Saturday evening and set up Sunday morning for a week of flying. Ro is looking forward to a week of sleep, chilling, reading and maybe a little flying.

Most hotels are on College Drive right off I-75. College Drive is close to food shopping and some places to eat but we have Mexican 1,2 and 3 plus the Bar-B-Q place and Italian place were we can all get together as a group to go eat if you like. I am sure Stan and Ro will scrutinize the desert menu each night.

The hotels on College are less that 5 miles from the field.

Hope this helps.

Hi y'all:

Lil' and I are already booked into the Hampton. Lily likes the Hampton but I can tell you all that if you don't book soon, the baseball players will have every spare room booked for miles around. There are a few more on the east side of the I-75 on Market St. (3 I believe) and a couple back on Chattanooga Rd. right off I-75 on the west side. See ya soon.

New Faces!!

Sounds like we are going to have quite a few new faces in Dalton this year!!
Darrell will tell you that, once you make it the first time, you will not want to miss one from there on... he told me that in 2007,.. only missed one since then...
Looking forward to meeting everyone!!

I've stayed at the La Quinta on College Drive in the past but they don't have rooms available. I just booked a room at the Super 8 on Market, never stayed at a Super 8 but it was only $59 a night and the website and reviews say the rooms have been recently renovated. I'm not that picky when it comes to hotels, all I won't is clean, quiet and reasonable price.

There are several hotels in the area just off I-75 at Walnut Street, exit 333.

I will arrive on Tuesday and stay through Sunday. Really looking forward to it.

UIH,

As mentioned we missed last year. Ro and I are really looking forward to seeing you folks. That alone is worth the trip.

I hovered my 76 yesterday all Jetified and Demon 3SX-a-fied for the first time. Felt better than it ever has. Hopefully there will be a second 76 there this year.

Comanche well, is Comanche. "The Duke" 950001 and "Homer" 940327 will both be flying this year. Looking forward to some pics with both in the air together.

Eats, yes eats as it is a favorite past time of ours and while at Dalton.

I have to get me some of what LB has been smoking.

A few pics from the past.

UIH,

B
