I've been using the Align starter on my 600 Nitro's for awhile now and have been very happy with it. Unfortunately, as to be expected the brushes are are starting to wear out and it works off and on now. It kills me to see this perfectly functional piece of equipment sitting on the shelf due to some inexpensive consumable part being worn out. Unfortunately it does not appear these starters are like their helicopters in that Align sells virtually every replacement part imaginable for it. Does anyone know of an aftermarket part number that would allow me to put this starter back in action?

I "think" the motor is your standard 540 brushed motor. If so, I would think any 540 brushes would work just fine. I know AMain carries brushes for 540 motors.

Maybe the day will come when they make "brushless" starter motors....

But then it will be the ESC that will need to be replaced.....

Haha for real. I own a combo mikita drill set all brushless lithium ion batts though. That would be a good option. These drills run forever and take a beating.

Our local ACE Hardware has a good selection of brushes....

Best take one out of your starter and see if they can match it up (if you have ACE near you)

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....
