This has gotten off topic and way over my head (not hard given my limited electronics knowledge)

I guess I was looking for opinions and experiences with these Align bl815h and bl855h servos. And level of trust with them. And opinions on running them on the lower voltage being safer or not.

Thanks everyone for your comments keep them coming, I'll try to keep up.

Sorry, didn't mean to....

I have no experience with the Align servos, so I can't help in that respect.

No problem. I don't mind. Clearly there is a whole lot I have yet to learn about electronics but I still like to hear about it even if it's over my head.

I have two flights on the servos so far fingers crossed.

Servos will draw less current on lower voltages therefore will run cooler and potentially make them more reliable.

60% of the time, it works every time!

less current on lower voltages
isn't that the other way around... this is why my 6S trex uses a 100A ESC vs my friends 700 that uses 12S and a 85A ESC...

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

You guys got me spooked,I have these in my new Dominator 550L, all four servos have the serial number C1617, so what does that mean, are they good or will become defective.

This is the thread that got me scared.

I hope I'm allowed to post this link, not sure with the crossover or not. If so I'll edit and delete.

The OP was from a long time ago.....~2014....

Think he claimed to be from Egypt....

The others seemed to accuse him of being an Align basher, as most others seemed to have not had his problems.

I think you can safely ignore that thread....

Yeah but it's 15 plus pages long with many posters stating problems and videos on YouTube. If you read on there are too many speaking about their problems to ignore that's all.

The later servos have serial numbers and many are saying they still have failures.

Plus they have discontinued these rather quickly and replaced with nearly identical servos and specs different numbers.

In my case I hope your right with nothing to worry about because I have many sets I'm just starting to use now.

Have to ask....why did you get those, if people seem to think there's a problem?

There's many other good servos out there....

Plug 12s into your 6s trex and see what happens! I'll let you change to a hv esc for the test if you wish!
