I am pondering grabbing either a Trex 700L V2 in kit form or a Trex 700X kit and would like to know what you fellas think.

Is the additional cost of the 700X worth it vs the 700L V2?

Thanks,

Sawacs

Having own none of them and pondering which one to go with base on specs alone, personally I would use the $200 difference for an extra battery or decent charger.

They will both perform exactly the same given my flying limitations.

Well all I can say is the new 700X still has front tail drive gear issues .
The older version is bomb proof

Lightningrc,

Do the front tail gear issues stem from a material or mesh issue or both?

In my personal view the problem is still the plastic cases .
The gears all wear in the end but I expect the front gears to wear at the same rate as the rear gears as exactly the same material and tooth count etc .
On the older Trex 700 they did !!
Align have beefed up the 700x cases now but they are obviously still flexing , this causing early failure of the gears .
