What's "cool power HI"?

Used to use cool power....when they had the green dye....

The dye ends up coating the inside of the crankcase...turning it green....

You might try a novarossi plug first.

Check the engine's manual.

I found the Rossi hot plug and the o.s. 8 give good performance. BUT obviously my altitude and tempture play a role compared to anyone else's tune. Best to get a hot medium and cold plug try them out. Factory reccomends a cold plug for 30% but found that untrue for my setup... but the Rossi plugs are short body. As EE said head shims play a major role with this motor. I went back to factory shims and now my tuning is a pain. One click either way changes temp 20+ degrees as with a extra shim I was getting 3 clicks for same result... this motor is truly a power house! Just got my new HV Servos Installed and a step down for throttle in mail to me! Found out my governer needs to be stepped down and the makers of my pushglow are uncertain if it can take the straight 2s told me to try it and cross my fingers HAHA

Also, have you "ported" your header to match the engine's exhaust port?

I'm running the matching Rossi Rex-H5s Tuned pipe. Ive tried a few other pipes and this pipe takes advantage of the full percormance across the whole throttle range... Interested to hear my EE about your above comment. Meaning what do you mean? Lol

I was hoping to have got your attention on porting your header...

The main thing that makes a tuned pipe work, and only on a 2-cycle engine, is the length of the baffle in the pipe from the engine's exhaust port that "reflects" the acoustic "shock" wave that occurs when the engine's piston "opens" after combustion.

This wave travels out the engine's exhaust port....down the pipe...until it hits the baffle(this baffle has a hole in it, btw).

Most of this is "exhausted" thru the baffle and out the pipe, but a small portion is reflected back towards the exhaust port.

Depending upon the engine's RPM, the length of this baffle can be "tuned" so that this reflection arrives at the engine's exhaust port just before the piston closes for another combustion cycle.

The result is that the engine's combustion chamber is "supercharged" by the added pressure of this reflected shock wave......and the engine's performance is increased slightly.

This technique is even used on "dirt bike" 2-cycle engines.
