That is definitely a misstatement. We have joined an organization that registered us as members, assigned a membership number and we have put our AMA number or address in the models which is essentially what the FAA required us to do. So in that regard maybe there is a parallel but that's all that I see.

"Anybody ever register an aircraft with AMA?"

Never....never in over 50 years of flying RC as an AMA member....

I can't believe the AMA is so "wishy washy".....

"the court ruling was about the hobby reg.ID"

And you have no legal standing to make any of your absurd claims...and you never have.

You words and claims mean absolutely.....nothing....

I see the sUAS $5 license as nothing more than a way to talk to all these people (ie. US, You and Me) and get them to understand how critically important airspace control is.

Quite frankly, after being the safety officer of my club for 3 years and trying to be moderate, the AMA safety code is a JOKE.

The AMA getting that legislation stuffed into the FAA re-authorization is more BS politics. You can buy anything from a congressman.

All you have to do is watch a video of street traffic in New Deli and you will see our future of NO CONTROL.

You also have to admit, the FAA will probably get language inserted in the next authorization to allow some control. Then you will all have to send your $5 back to the FAA. The rules were minimal, the compliance was minimal, now the FAA will just load the gun and the rules will hurt.

It is not trolling if you disagree.

Don't have to "admit" any such thing.....it's just speculation on your part....

You do you register your RC toys every time you put your AMA number name and telephone number on your aircraft if that's not registration I don't know what is and if you're not doing that then you're not in compliance with AMA rules!!!! Sorry. XGM/VGM
But on the bright side. It looks like a win for us!!!!

"every time you put your AMA number name and telephone number on your aircraft"

You have misstated that rule.....

The rule says....specifically......

AMA #......OR.....name and telephone #...

In RC competition, the AMA # must be present...and there are rules for even the size of such....in addition, no such ID is required when any aircraft is flown indoors.

Go check it out.....

The name and tel. # is a vestige from the "good ol days" when "fly aways" were a norm.

Every time mine has "flown away", the 101.41 pieces were easily found....lol.....some of which still lies buried in the ground.

Anyone bothered to put a link of the actual appeal?

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...kPM5hzuW5zyPZ7A

Below a Cut and Paste from bottom of page 8

We note that Section 336(b) expressly preserves the FAA’s
authority to “pursue enforcement action against persons operating
model aircraft who endanger the safety of the national airspace
system.” FAA Modernization and Reform Act § 336(b). That
provision, however, is tied to safety. It does not authorize the FAA
to enforce any pre-existing registration requirement.

I just read it.....

Mr. Taylor's 2nd challenge is that he wants to fly on his property in the DC area.....and was ruled to have been filed in "an untimely manner".....

So what's your point....you're in Florida.

He is in DC....and was only "late" in his challenge to this 2nd part of his lawsuit....not that his point was ruled wrong.

Mr. Taylor prevailed for all that fly in locales other than the DC area.

Again, it's the conflagration of a distinct legal point that once again adds to unnecessary confusion and speculation.

You would think that as smart and articulate as they were, that they would fly RC helicopters! (not to mention handsome)

"Our guns are protected by the Constitution."

Yes, but only until they legislate against them.

Keep in mind that while the Bill of Rights are ordained by God, these people in DC are lawyers and they think they are a higher authority.

Their motto has become "You show me the man, and they will show you a crime".

John A. Taylor did more for all that fly ANY type of model aircraft than the AMA ever did.

In our darkest hour, it was not the AMA who only played us all for fools......but was Mr. John A. Taylor who.....by himself....fought these FAA hooligans and stuck his middle finger in their eyes.

And now the AMA hierarchy has the audacity to try to claim credit for what this man did. That is sick and pathetic.

They all need to be voted out ASAP....and Chad B. should be fired.
