Hello

I'm wondering what the best Kontronik setup would be for minimum ten but preferably 15 minute flights on 6 or 7s. I don't really want super low headspeeds more around 1400-1700rpm. I'm also not interested in extreme power just quiet responsive sport flying.

I assume a Pyro 650 or 700 could be a good starting point?

I know it's not a Logo 700 but my Logo 600se V2 has a Edge 100, scorpion 4025-560kv on 7s and I get around 10 min flight times. Nice and easy, the motor and esc come down warm to the touch.

For me 10 minutes should be a minimum aiming point for sport/non 3d flying. I used to have an early flybar Logo 500-3d running a Hacker A40 Electric Turbine on 5s and it gave 12 minute flights. I really want to avoid running 2 packs as I find the charging vs flying very inefficient. I currently have a 3 blade Vibe E8 on 12s3300 and get 8 minutes and find this far from acceptable for my flying style. It used to achieve 10 minutes as a 2 blade helicopter.

You have to remember, you are taking helis designed to fly for 5 minutes and making them do what you want...that is a custome setup. There is no exact science but if you cut the amperage draw in half, your flight time will double (same work).

My head speed according to Caste Creations is:

1-1200rpm---81%
2-1300rpm---88%
3-1400rpm---95%

The motor is a HKIII 4025-560kv, 11t, its light as ever and just great to fly. Especially for me, I'm practicing more and more.

Logo 700- Maximizing Flight Time

I too am looking to maximize flight time on my new Logo 700. My set up consists of:

Scorpion HK-4525-520KV motor
Scorpion Tribunus 200A ESC
Pulse 12S-6000mAh (2 packs at 6000-6S)
VControl with NEO

Chris Reibert posted an interesting video on YouTube that you may find worthwhile. You mentioned not wanting to drop down to low headspeeds. Chris cuts his down to 850rpm in the video, which in reality sounds outstanding.

At the end of the day I think it comes down to just what Ron Thomas said. Cut the amperage draw and flight time will go up (all things being equal). If I can manage the headspeed on my Logo the way Chris does in the video and can demonstrate an increase in flight time, I am all for it. My flying style is very much sport/scale-like.

Great video with some nice smooth flying.

I don't really think it's what you would call a custom setup as it only requires a jumper.

Just goes to show what can be achieved with some imagination.

I doubt you will get more than 10 minutes on a 700 at 1400-1700 rpm.

It's all about getting enough mAh in the heli without adding excessive weight.

4s 8000mah packs would be great for an 8s 8000mah setup but it's finding the packs that's hard!

Edit: Here you go! At least drones are useful for something! http://www.getfpv.com/tattu-8000mah...po-battery.html

60% of the time, it works every time!
