Hi Folks

I am flying a very old turbine model from the early 2000, it is a Jetcat Hotcat.

it used a mixture of Robbe parts - tail boom, drive, tail gear box..

The tail on the millennium is on the left hand side of boom when heli pointing forwards.

This is ideal for the left hand rotation of the jetcat, I have changed the rotation to RHR which means the tail is on the wrong side.I want to flip the tail but the bell crank on the millennium has a kink, so if I want to flip the tail I need a bell crank with the kink in the opposite direction.

Was there a conversion for this machine to enable me to do this ?

Or

Will the Cuatro bell crank work as the gear box is the same, and the bell crank on the cuatro allows for either tail output.

The Robbe SE and Milli helis had this setup with RHR and never had an issue. The Cuatro changed sides but I don't remember anyone saying the tail wasn't good enough on the earlier models. If you want it on the other side you will need a complete Cuatro gearbox as the Milli gearbox bracket is too long for the double action bellcrank.

I found the part for right hand, they did a left hand bell crank and a right hand bell crank which I did not know.. so I have ordered it, it was £2.50.

Yeah I agree, but I have had to drop the head speed to 1240 as I am flying this turbine with 850 blades,i am tied to the gearing of the single stage jetcat 1240.. The tail is ok but I am always looking for extra spare power, probably really over thinking..

There you go, I did not know about the other bell crank. Makes me wonder why they used to have it on the opposite side now. Sorry about the incorrect info. Where can you still buy new parts?

I did not know either, I only found it when I was looking up the part numbers.

I went to the Robbe distributor here in UK, they have lots of Robbe parts but also a lot out of stock.

I supposed the only reason for changing the tail side was probably going back to the F3C days, where axial rolls were paramount in the days before decent gyros and radios with multiple mixes..

I remember the F3C guys experimenting on their Xcell models.. doing the same.

You didn't give out wrong info, there is a metal bell crank for Cuatro but they want 45 Euros for It, it was also good info about the tail gear box I never knew the gearbox bracket was different.

45 euros!!! Probably would've bought one years ago when we use to pay a fortune for Robbe parts. One good thing Align did for the hobby I suppose. I saw an ad on a local hobby sales site in Oz caller RCTrader that had 2 Robbes with the metal tail boxes for $700. I thought about buying them just for the boxes. Remember how much those little puppies were???
