Is there an article or user guide somewhere which talks about rc turbines and setup in details? Some (when I win powerball), I would like to build a scale that does not sound like a turbine but actually does have a turbine.

I found this book very helpful in understanding how things work.
There are other books, one that comes to mind is Gas Turbines for Model Aircraft by Kurt Schreckling,

There are also other web sites to the one mentioned above which help understand, Peter Wales Site has some interesting info and how to guides on the Jetcat PHT3 and the two stage SPH5.(Helicopter Specific)

This is also another web site, its mainly fixed wing turbine focussed but it gives an idea of the principles behind a model gas Turbine.

But also look through the many pages here on Turbines, going back to early 2000, I often look back and find it an interesting read when turbines in Models were really new.

Not sure if this will be completely possible. My PHT-3 was still a rather small turbine and was loud as heck. The Wren 44 on the other hand was much quieter, but there is still a very definitive high pitched sound.

I learned what I know by asking a few questions and reading the manual. If you are a highly mechanically inclined person you will pick up on it very fast. Its not overly complicated, most of the work is done for you in the ECU It is very similar to setting up a nitro and "tuning" the engine after.

couldn't you just add a tiny siren impeller setup to a high rpm motor and spool it up slowly to produce the authentic turbine sound?...

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

I think he wants the exact opposite. He wants a turbine but not the sound? Seems silly to me, but to each his own!

There was a Lama that was electric but had a dummy turbine on the back.. a few thought it was a turbine until the guy admitted it was electric with a sound system to mimic a turbine startup very convincing, if you did not like the loud roar of a real turbine you can turn the volume down...
but the thrill of a turbine is the sound and smell of fresh JetA1 ha ha

it was on the freak...

Hi

What I meant was that electric models are poor man's turbine and I would like to get into actual turbine Helios rather than one that mimic a turbine with electric motor
