Hey guys, been way busy with things and finally able to get back to building my Eagle 2 again. Was wanting to see if any of you have a way I could get the parts list for the ssr-4 wc ex head. The blue head that I believe was used in the '99 WC Eagle 2. I don't need the part list for the older black standard ssr-4 but the later version. If any of you guys may have it or can direct me to it to download that would be great, I appreciate it!

Jerman,

The SSR-IV head (black yoke and grips) was used in the E2WC97 and SSR-V (blue yoke and grips) in E2WC99, HB0404-810. E2 EX98 spec came with SSR-IV but did not use the single piece machined yoke used with WC97. There is no SSR-4 WC EX. Beside the color difference, the SSR-IV and V are very similar in appearance but many of the parts are different. If you are planning on using SSR-V, you might as well buy a complete new head instead of upgrading parts on SSR-IV which few are common, if that is what you are asking. Below is SSR-V diagram and parts list.

Ahh I see, I appreciate you doing that, right now I have parts to continue building an ssz-2 head, but thought about trying out an ssr style head instead, if you had any recommendations I definitely would be interested in hearing your thoughts, I'm wanting to have this fly as smooth as possible and was thinking an overslung head would be the direction to take, thanks again!

Jerman,

I suppose it depends on your flying style. The SSR-IV and SSR-V heads are F3C heads and really solid for hovering under windy conditions, well behaved heads. The SSZ-II is more for 3D and was originally used with Freya. The SSZ-III (HB0414-408) is a more recent version of the SSZ-II . All are good heads, it just depends on on your flying style and preference. My preference would be SSR vs SSZ, but you can't go wrong with anyone of them. Hope that helps.

Perhaps you'll get others to opine. Happy building!

Yeah out here in east TX the weather is around 80 degrees but usually is very windy, I really need something that wouldn't be affected by the windy conditions so my thoughts were going in that direction. Thanks! I'll post pics soon
