Making funny work with my kyosho nexus legato
I bought in 2016 my lovely heli, when I learned flying heli, it was be my second heli.
NEXUS 30
Now, I modifying NEXUS LEGATO with 52 Os max four Stroke (factory setup) and flapping head...
It will be direct CCPM 120deg, FBL flapping head, strong tail drive and rebuild OS 52FS...
I bought also Hatori rare genuine tuned pipe for OS 52FS engine...
I'm not sure this heli do slowly 3D ...but....I will check.

Now finished modified main frame
Milled upper parts and inserted CNC frames with direct CCPM servos.
It will be JR DS3401 mini servos controller from old V-BAR
Tail drive shaft was absolute funny - 2mm wire.
I changed it to torque tube from trex 700.
Trex its unique, mu lovely machine. Many parts are compatible with anything.
Main rotor head will be FBL. Flapping head was modified - excess parts was throw out.
CCPM swashplate, slider and mixed arms picked from trex 500.
Was fit much better than original.
Because not so easy construction, I want safe FLAPPING head, and I use RAPTOR E700 type of head levers+swashplate holders.
Next I will use trex 500 tail arm for slider, I need mill carbon extender for tail pitch arm.
Tail servo will go to front part of frame.
I will make pictures ASAP.
Also i have many nexus 30 parts for sale, I will list it in few days.

The O.S.52FS was famous for overheating in the Nexus. You may want to invest some of your talent and engineering into a better cooling system for the engine.

I often thought that maybe the lower running rpm of the four stroke engine simply could not spin the cooling fan fast enough to supply the required air volume to cool the engine. Also, four stroke engines tend to run hotter to begin with.

Years ago, Compass helicopters removed the cooling fan all together on one of their large nitro models, the Odin. Instead of an engine driven fan, they installed an electric computer cooling fan that ran off a lithium rx battery. Perhaps this concept can help you some how.

The four stroke Nexus did sound neat. My mentor/pilot instructor when I entered the hobby had one.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.
