And I do believe this relates to you guys topic about engine failure however all I wanted to know is if any of you have ever flown a Mosquito or rotorway???
Both the Mosquito & Rotorway are about the best one man Helicopters, Rotorway might be the number 1.

In this case only, I would rather be flying a Rotorway and take my chances making a "autorotation" landing.

I don't see those gas engines reacting fast enough for his setup. It seems like you would be better off trying to step up on a tire tube in the water.

FWIW, to answer the OP's question, Mosquito's are good if that's what your looking for. There are too many people making personal drones around the world now. I think they will hit the personal market in the near future.

Both Rotorway and Mosquito are worldwide, and popular. Electric Drones are around the corner, just do a search: "Personal Drone" and you should get several hits on YouTube.

Clone? Yeah just what I want, somebody selling me a helicopter kit that I am going to depend on for the safety of my life when it is made by some Chinese knock off.

Are you kidding me? Don't you have any respect for the designers and developers of a product? Everything learned in product development is not down on paper or in the shipping box.

WC's definition of right and wrong is different from anyone else's.....According to WC, it's ok to steal as long as it does not effect him personally. You can read a little more about that philosophy here in this thread....

https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t816160p1/

Apparently , WC's attitude toward stealing intellectual property to create "clones" follows suit.....

And there are some morons that think designers don't patent their inventions....therefore it's ok to copy and sell.

I learned my lesson with clones.

They are a lottery ticket. Because of quality control. It doesn't matter that they make them "exactly the same" because the tolerances + or - are way too wide because they can't afford to scrap every part that is a little off.

Parts don't fit, holes are drilled in the wrong spot, and most everything just feels cheap.

For the price of a new clone, you can buy a used tried and true heli.

Yes there are places you can cut corners and save some bucks, generic tools (frustrating some times and they tend to wear out quicker), Velcro, chargers and power supplies (assuming you monitor them as you should anyway).

But in a real heli?
A clone
Hell no

I guess you really believe that.....

I ask you.....why in heck are there patents in the 1st place?

And why does the USA have a US Patent and Trademark Office?

It's even online....

And....Canada even has such an office...which is also online.

I think that he means "clone" in the extremely generic sense.

Like a Schweitzer is just a tweaked version of Leonardo's aerial screw.

We are talking about clones,
Not new advancements on an old idea (which even these have to acknowledge the work done before it's called prior art)

Clones are just "exact copies" with nothing attributed to the source
Except when they say "parts interchangeable"

"But what to do?"

Start by not purchasing cloned products. That is what to do. If it is half price of the name brand, it is likely a clone and you are STEALING from honest hard working businesses and their employees.

Clone means; a duplicate, interchangeable parts, as if they would be the same but for the manufacturer/design owner.

It should be known that the scumbag manufacturers are not above making and selling parts behind the design owner's back.

I wish everyone could experience how difficult it is to create a product from scratch. Then to have their product stolen and reproduced by the thousands. Just ask the guy who invented intermittent windshield wipers.
