+1 for EEngineer.

I'm still curious to see a pic though,
One man's scratch is another man's chunk.
Pm me if you want.

That being said helis have taught me a lot
And one of the top lessons is this:

You'll never regret anything as much as you regret doing something you knew you shouldn't in the first place.

One man's scratch is another man's chunk.
Decent chunk versus a nick should be a big difference to any man.

Think structural versus cosmetic.

The "magic trick" as you call it, is for cosmetic-nicks and not for structural integrity.

That said, it we are talking of 1/8th of an inch broken tip on the trailing edge, then I would sand off same amount from the other blade and inspect for separation.

As mentioned, if heli makes sounds out of the ordinary, land and inspect why to correct it.

Thanks to electrics, much easier to accomplish such.

Very true....

My experience has been that "nicks" or "chunks" seem to appear on the leading edge rather than the trailing edge.....whether fixed winged or rotary winged....

When I heard the word "chunk", I immediately thought the worse....and to "chunk" the blades for safety reasons, if nothing else.

I know some people that if a hairline scratch were to appear on their car, or bike or other similar "baby" they would go ballistic,
And describe it as if a meteorite hit it.

That's why I said, one man's Chunk...

Language is funny like that. That's why I requested a pic.

But I think everyone is on the same page.

Cosmetic repair only

Goblin 770?

2650mah packs are quite small. A single pack is going to cut your head speed a lot, are you using a gov or end points? Eather way your headspeed will be quite low.
Blade repair is tricky and a blade failure is catastrophic on a heli, Goblins 770's are not the cheapest to repair.
Take off is critical get the head up to speed and take off clean you will not have a tip over.

I'm using end points on this one.
After the scare I just quit playing around with it. And stuck to larger (standard) size 6s packs for 12s. Mostly was just experimenting out of curiosity. But I've got several packs made up now. Most are 5500mah 2x6S packs.
On the nicks, I'd say they're maybe 1/4 of the size of a dime. Maybe 3/4 of one at the most. I thought about just adding some ca and sanding smooth. But still need to do it.

I think now, like your probably thinking with the tip over is too low HS. The blades hadn't had time to straighten out yet, I have them pretty tight, and I killed the throttle making things worse. The concrete wasn't perfectly flat. And it just wobbled a little too much.

"Maybe 3/4 of one at the most."

Of a dime.....dimes are ~18mm in diameter...

That's ~13.5mm....

That's ~ the diameter of a .50cal bullet hole.

To me, that's not a nick....that's a chunk.

On the blade leading edge?

Come on....

Have y'all shopped for goblin 770 blades !!? Holly cow. There's hardly anything out there that's not $170. Hardly anything out there period.! Saw some 800mm.

Anyone run 750mm or 700mm ?

Obviously there's a heck of a lot more to choose from in the 690-710mm range.

Could there really
Be any issues with running them that small ?

Typically would just want to run higher head speeds right ?

When I say "out there"

Maybe I'm talking more about eBay. I do 90% of my shopping there. What's the question ?
If you have a place I shoud look do tell.

Wait until you have to start buying the repair parts (aside from the blades) resulting from that inevitable "incident" !!

Frankly, if you have to ask "how much" then maybe ___________(fill in the blanks)

He's got the money

Have you seen how many helis he's bought recently

Give him a couple months and he'll learn the value balance most of us have accepted.

yah wasn't asking how much... just wondered if there was some place I wasn't looking. google didn't bring up a whole lot typing in "770mm blades" for purchase. Ebay certainly did not. I can see how much they are. thats not the issue.
And dont get me wrong, I dont want to crash, who would?.
But I'll be prepared when it does happen.
Monetarily at least, maybe not emotionally lol.
I might cry like a little BI%#h for a day.

But your right heliraptor10,
Im kinda on a roll here, I think Ive bought 8 heli's this year already. lol
Haven't kept them all.
Surprised the wife hasn't changed the locks yet.

Back to my question tho EEngineer ...
Where should I be looking online for blades ? If i might ask?
Or is this a heavily guarded super secret site you like to use?

and the other part of the question was..., what other size blades do people run on these models?... speaking about the 700 plus sizes. (goblin 770, Trex800 etc... )
