I wanted to throw this out there since many President Trump supporters chimed in when they thought President Obama was taking too many trips on the taxpayer dime.

President Obama's travel cost on average 12 million per year in estimated costs for travel outside of state business.

In the first month of President Trump's term he has cost the taxpayers an estimated 10 million for non-state related business.

So how do you feel knowing he will cost the US Taxpayers possibly over 100 million a year in non-state travel related expenses?

Since many of you were outraged at President Obama's 12 million per year I expect you will be even more outraged with President Trump's expenditure.

Below is an article concerning the costs.

President Trump had a lot to say about President Obama’s vacations and his costs to American taxpayers. Yet, a new report confirms that Trump’s travel costs—made more exorbitant because of his refusal to stay in the White House on weekends—is on track to far surpass that of Obama.

The Washington Post estimates that if the Trump family’s “elaborate lifestyle” continues at the clip it racked up during the first month of his presidency, he will spend hundreds million more than his predecessor.

The Post reports that Trump’s three trips to the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida since the inauguration cost approximately $10 million in travel, security and more. President Obama spent roughly the same in travel ($12 million) for an entire year.

Because President Trump has such a large family, their security adds to the astronomical costs as well as well.

The costs of guarding the Trump Tower in New York City where the first lady, Melania Trump and Trump’s youngest son Barron live, is estimated to cost $183 million a year. New York Senator Chuck Schumer says he wants the federal government to recoup these costs to New York City and State. The Post also reports that Eric Trump’s trip to Uruguay ran $100,000 in hotel fees for Secret Service personnel.

This in addition to the $1.5 million a year to rent appropriate space for authorities in the Trump Tower, if the Pentagon decides to prepare for the commander-in-chief’s possible to return to his Manhattan residence.

Conversely, Obama’s travel expenses were calculated at about $97 million for his two years in office.

It's UN acceptable

If toned down some it would be ok.

RPT: Trump's Border Wall Could Save Americans Nearly $64 Billion Over 10 Years

A new Center for Immigration Studies report suggests that President Donald Trump's wall along the U.S.-Mexico border could save Americans nearly $64 billion over the next 10 years if it stops half of all expected undocumented immigrants.

http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/02/...ump-border-wall
Obama didn't even try.

I'll take Trump's high cost because he has a much higher return on the investment than Obama ever did...an everlasting loser.

I never had an issue with Obama's vacations.....I wish he would have stayed on vacation the whole 8 years, he would have done far less damage.

One thing that should be mentioned is that his young son Baron is finishing the school year at his current school. Once completed, Trump's wife and son will join him in Washington.

That should help with some of the travel cost and the NYCPD cost of guarding Trump Tower.

I am not excusing Trump, just adding a couple of things. It is a lot of money to spend on the taxpayer's dime. They do have golf courses here in Washington. We lack the sun and manicured fairways and greens this time of year.

trump is doing everything he complained about Obama doing and at 10 times the amount. What a freaking joke!

To defend trump now shows how incredibly stupid his followers really are.

If you still think he is going to help you, then you really are uneducated as he called his supporters.

Would you like a crying towel?

Despite Trump's perceived misgivings, still a WAY better choice than Hillary and certainly glad of the outcome. Call me an incredibly stupid deplorable. I am proud and you are crying.

Educated or not the lack of wisdom, not to mention knowledge of the laws of this country, displayed by the anti Trump crowd is truly astounding!
It is no wonder that they supported the disaster of the last eight years.

Helisplatter,

You are correct in mentioning that the cost may drop once his son is finished with school.

My thought is that he is a wealthy 70 year old man who likes to do certain things and he will not let being the President get in his way. (Try changing the personality of any 70 year old man and see what happens) This means traveling and playing regular golf. This will in turn cost a lot of taxpayer dollars. The other thought is that his penthouse apartment will need continued protection, and so will Mar-a-lago, which will also keep costs high.

I am willing to take a solid bet that President Trump will go down as the most expensive President in US history.

Did y'all see where Obama needs $1.5 BILLION for his library??? He has no money for it and now they're crying. As a side note, GWB's library was $500 Million and was built with donated funds.
How much you wanna bet they try to do Bammy's with public funds when they get nada from his fanboys???

I have no problem with the POTUS traveling on State Business. Costs are expected to be high, for numerous reasons. Whether Demoncrat, Repubelican, or whatever, it comes with the territory.

HOWEVER, all of the freak'n 'vacation' trips should be funded by their paychecks. Granted, security I get. But the rest of it, should be on their dime, NOT THE D@MN TAXPAYER.

No one pays for my vacations..except...me. Wow, novel concept.

Real funny, the president should pay for the secret service cost while on vacation. Get Real.

Every heard of Kenny Bunkport? How about Crawford Texas? Rancho del Cielo North of Santa Barbara? Warm Springs, Georgia? Key Biscayne off Miami? Hyannisport, Massachusetts?

All presidents take vacations. The cost has skyrocketed due to protection and number of people traveling and supporting the president.

So yes, I agree the President needs to take it easy on the taxpayers. Campaigning should be out of the question on a president's second term in office. What are we really getting with some of the "Official" trips? Are we over doing things? Are there ways to conserve money without increasing risk?

The president is a well feathered bird held captive in a gilded cage. Kennedy had to import his concubines, William Jefferson Clinton hired his for staff. (note criminals are always known by three names.)

I am the opposite from many of you on vacations. I fully support the President of the USA having vacations as part of their "job".

What I feel is an example of hyposcrisy is that President Trump has spent more in the first month than President Obama spent in almost a year. When he was candidate Trump he spent a fair amount of Twitter time attacking President Obama for his vacations.

Present Obama took less vacation time than President Bush. President Obama took a total of 28 vacations encompassing 217(whole/part) days during his 8 years in office. This is 27.125 days per year. For comparison, President Bush took a total of 533 (whole/part) days of vacation. This is 66.625 days per year.

You can't really argue that President Trump is a "better" deal as there is nothing really "coming in" from his policies yet.

Remember, at the end of President Obama's presidency, the economy was up, unemployment was at it lowest point since 2008. Those facts are pieces of information that are represented by actual data, not political diatribe.

If you look at the article it is comparing Trumps travel AND security AND other expenses to Obama's travel only. Not quite apples/apples.
