Hi everyone,
I have been thinking about this project for a few years. I had a spare carbon frame set for my hirobo EX in the box gathering dust.
I decided to combine the carbon frame set with my Hirobo SDX.
check it out. I changed the swash type to 135deg. I grafted the radio tray onto the carbon frame. I was able to position all the screw holes exactly as the SDX has so the geometry stayed the same. I am very happy how it turned out. I have the shorter head block on it. I also have it running the Brain2 HD with my jeti DS-16 rex6. I have the temp probes from jet installed giving me realtime temp. I also have a switchglo pro hidden inside set up to work off my transmitter. Old tech combined with new tech.

Hi everyone,

Today I did my maiden flight on this heli. All went very uneventfullly. I was worried because my bench test showed a bit of interaction on the elevator to pitch, but I could not feel it at all. The default tail gain was too high, so I brought that down. The heli locked right in. I need to tune the gov just a bit, but other than that, it flew great on default settings. Since its nitro and I am using the gel tape that came with the Brain2, I was worried about vibes. The recorded vibes were all well inside the gray area. I feel very happy with how the heli showed up on the vibe screen in the wizard. I do have the futaba foam tape, but I dont think I need to at this time. The recorded data showed my headspeed stayed very consistent. I was worried because when I was watching the gov, it showed that it was going off and on, but not the case in flight. It was spot on and ran great on the gov. Overall, the setup and maiden using the Brain2 HD with a nitro was easy and flew very nice right out of the box. I am very happy having the heli run off the MSH Brain2.

Hi,

the SDX with the carbon frames looks awsome.

Am I right that the frames are from K & S and not from Hirobo?

There are still some optional parts missing ...

Kind regards

Chris

Why the 4S and the Guard? It would take a lot to activate the guard with that pack? Just curious.

Hi,

thanks for your posting. I did not know that EX stands for Sceadu.

This means that Hirobo 0412-250 fits to the SDX?

EX

When you say EX frames, do you mean the 60-90 size Freya EX or is there another EX for 50 size?

Hello,

Its a 2s 4000 pack for rx. I added the backup guard for redundancy. It needs the nose weight and figured I would use usefull weight instead of dead weight. Yes, this is the frame set from the Sceadu EX. It is available as an upgrade for the sceadu. The servo placement is different for the SDX. I customized mine by cutting off the sceadu servo placement and adding the SDX plastic servo tray.
