Watch at YouTube

Within the first hour he talks about antigravity and pulling energy from space-time. Who needs batteries anyways!

Sounds like another cold fusion announcement.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Why do you guys always turn these things into tin hat conspiracy discussions???

Flow battery is a cool idea and has been in the works for a while. Kind of a cross between a battery and a fuel cell. The concept is that you replace the electrolyte from large tanks so you can either greatly increase the capacity, or just swap out the fluid rather than recharging (like fueling up a vehicle). Right now its being tested as storage for solar energy.

Probably not something that will benefit vehicles or RC helis but possibly big for grid storage.

If your interested this was showcased along with a bunch of other ideas in a recent NOVA episode on batteries. One other tech that could be HUGE for us if it works is the solid state lipo

I saw the NOVA special, and it will be a big deal when the plastic insulating lithium batteries finally become available. Would be nice to not have to worry about your batteries in a crash, they're fine. Hard to believe a nail through the pack and nothing happens.

Sorry, I have just become a little jaded in my long life. Many things I had hoped were possible have fallen by the wayside because of various reasons.
Nuclear power was once touted as the easy cheap clean solution to the energy problems, well it didn't work out that way.
A few years ago Fusion was going to be clean power for the future, but after 30 years it is still just over the horizon, always another ten years.
Cold fusion looked just to simple to be true, and it was just that.
.
I still hope that fusion will work out someday in my lifetime (better hurry up) and I am not saying (well maybe I implied) that this battery storage method won't work and I hope it does someday. After all, lots of home swimming pools might work as the media.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?
