I have a genuine Futaba 9VHP in perfect condition. This transmitter is some 25 years old. The sticks and controls have the metal can servo pots (different shafts). After this period of time they gall or seize up. I don't know if they were ever lubricated with anything - aluminum can with brass shaft. This effects two of the stick pots and two of the trim levers.

In restoring old radios has anyone tried to lubricate this type of pots and with what ? Should not evaporate. Should not get all over the pot element.

well best option is pure silocon grease like I use for all my servos. Its non conductive dielectric grease. I use Trident, its actual used for fishing. Works great. This should not hurt the radio and it never dries.

I use a teflon based spray on many things. You could try that. It won't goop anything up or attract dirt or grime.
