I gave it to a friend for a while, to get him back into the hobby again. He's since got back into helis in a big way, so he gave the Cal back to me. Now I just finished setting it up with a new Spektrum AR7110R (with Rev Limiter) receiver. Can't wait to fly it again.

I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

That is cool! I really enjoyed my Caliber 30 until I stripped the main gear and couldn't find a new one.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Baby, I had a Caliber 30 some years ago it was fun to fly. I sold it when parts were still available.
My buddy that was flying my Caliber 5 was able to find some parts at Kyosho America, that and the occasional brand new Kit comes up on eBay.
If I crash it and can't get parts then it's done. . Besides I have other outdated stuff to fly.

You still see stuff on Ebay for the caliber 5 but the 30 is old enough to be kind of extinct. I saw a Caliber 5 for sale not too long ago and was tempted to get it.
But I need another heli like I need more holes in my head.

Caliber 5 ready to fly again

It is easy to get parts from Quest of Japan for the Caliber line, and or you can order a new Caliber. They sell the Neo-Caliber 30 with or without engine and flybar, fbl, and 3-blade head. The Neo Caliber 50 is also available flybar, fbl, and 3-blade head. All at reasonable pricing.

I also forgot the electric versions, and the 60 size.

Baby,

I'm with you and the hole in your head, I'm in the same boat.

Slick,

I had forgotten about Quest, thanks for reminding me. It sounds like Quest has updated the Caliber line, i'm going to check it out now!

I think I've seen this Cal fly many years ago. Good of you to give it out to a up and comer!

Caliber 5 ready to fly again

The major improvement in the Quest line-up, was the redesign of the servo tray, and they also eliminated the plastic clutch bell. The Neo-Caliber sport is improved where it needed to be, and the fbl, and 3-blade have more aluminum parts where it is needed.

Very nice helicopters. Check out the vids on YouTube!

Ant,

It's the same one from way back when.

I was checking out the new quest stuff. Impressive.

If the weather cooperates tomorrow, I'll tune the engine and set the rev limiter and it's ready to go.

A little engine tune, test hover, and rev limiter dial in. Its ready to grab and go, just like I like to keep all my heli's

Sweet! I need to get my surviving nitro out and get it ready for flight. Been over a year since it's been in the air.
Damn electrics are just so easy to grab for a quick flight.

All of my nitros have onboard glow (not the Caliber) so all I have to bring is fuel, starter, transmitter and heli. I still like electric too, but Nitro is my favorite.

Baby, get that nitro ready to go !
