I fly large, scale helicopters. I have a Kosmik Kool 160 in one of them running 12S battery packs and NOT using the BEC function (red wire from the Master lead not connected to the Jeti Receiver). Batteries are tucked away under the cockpit floor.

I would like to know if it could be harmful to the ESC if the 12S battery packs were to be plugged into the Kosmik prior to switching on the radio transmitter or receiver? The transmitter would be switched on and in "throttle hold" (Kosmic does not arm) when the receiver is turned on. Once the receiver and FBL system have initialized, throttle hold could be released and the Kosmik would arm, and I could initiate spool-up.

Disregarding any "moral issues" with having the Kosmik connected to the 12S batteries without the radio being on, I am looking for an answer regarding if it could damage the Kontronik ESC in any way.

Thank you.

I see no possibility for harm to the Kosmik from this handling.
