Yesterday one of our C12's was airlifted to its final resting place from the airport where I work to The army base at Ft Rucker. This has been planned for some time and the event finally unfolded and went off without a hitch. it was bitter sweet as its the end of an era for many of us who worked on these aircrafts. of the 10 we had, this is the only one not flown out under her own power but instead went out in style.

Pretty stable in the hover, sure sign of a perfectly tuned FBL unit! LOL!

I like seeing the guy sticking half way out of the left side of the heli.

Surprised to see the load swing around as much as it did at lift off.

Cool vid, thanks for sharing!

Hey bud, great pics and vid!! I like the way they used the drogue chute to keep the load from spinning in forward flight.

Thanks all, around here its the army helos all day long. it was good practice for the hook guys as they only get to lift the big concrete slabs out at the stage field during normal training. the "F" model hooks and the apaches have hover hold features but its not unusual that these guys keep it rock solid like the vid shows. it was fun to watch and it was nice to see our C12 leave in style. the last five were flown out, boring!
Russ, that's why you and Darrell are the big dogs and I try to hang with y'all
