Watch at YouTube

Here is a video of my Trex 550 DFC v2 with a Vbar 5.3 pro the servos move very slow when initializing to center on start up . All my other helicopters have always jumped to center very fast when they initialize . I am running Futaba BLS272SV cyclic servos and BLS276SV on the tail (760/333) . I am running a 2s pack straight to the vbar . In the video the first start up is what I get most of the time which is where they center very slow and the second part shows the vbar initializing correctly and fast . Took a few try's to get it to initialize correctly . Just want to make sure this wont cause a error or if I am making a mistake somewhere . Otherwise the servos seem to work great !

I've never seen any servo do that.

Maybe it's a servo saving feature? In case there's binding in the throw.

I never get tired of swashplate action.

Did you buy your cyclics used? Looks like those servo's have a programmable damper factor. Well I am not 100 percent aware of what this means, it sounds like a startup damper, for binding possibly?

I just found this, so maybe I am wrong....

Damping: Affects the speed at which the motor stops. Higher damping gain means that the servo motor will begin to stop "sooner", lower damping gain means that it will stop slower. If the servo hunts for center (oscillates), increasing damping gain will help eliminate this. Holding and Damping are pretty well set at the factory, so large changes to their values shouldn't be necessary.

Looks like something in the vbar. After it centers the servos act normal. Look at your settings or read the instructions that came with the vbar. This may be a trait of your particular vbar version.

That is completely normal with the bls272's. BK8002's do the same thing. It's not a setup issue and it won't cause any problems.

Some arguments are sound and nothing more

No problem. I have four heli's with 272's and Neo's. They all do the same thing. Hundreds of trouble free flights on all. No worries.

Slowly moving the servos during the initialisation phase with a NEO or maybe v-bar version 6 is a feature Mikado added to stop the servos snapping to full negative (stick down on tx) once the NEO starts interpreting received signals.

I didn't know it was a feature built into the servos as well. Thanks for the info.

BLS272SV servos have "Soft Start" enabled by default.
See the specifications section for the servo on Tower's website.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXCVWP&P=ML
The 18MZ and 18SZ manuals have descriptions for the SBus servo settings.
