Hey Stan, I have a set of those stock blades, tried them on my AS350. To my recollection, they fly fine, lots of lift, a little ballooning but nothing crazy or terribly unpredictable. Good luck with the maiden.

Still WINDY!!!

Gave me time to fine tune the BD and I had a couple of broken hinges.. I tried to contact RCA, but did not hear back, so I made do with what I had on hand... Vario 20/19 scale hinges... I had to mod then a bit, but they will do nicely and I don't think they look out of place...
Oh and had to add a bit of nose weight!!

All that shot is CRAZY!! I know that's what it takes to CG.. I slide my flight packs forward and use a 3s RX pack where your shot is. Reduced the weight of the whole bird by almost 2 pounds.

Moving Batteries...

Tailkiller,
I agree that it is a lot of weight... but I had tried moving my batt's forward but they don't fit under the nose section... I have some new ones coming and if I can move them I will make a change....easy to remove the shot/epoxy...

Thanks, Stan

Yeah I know.. I removed the back seats and cut a hatch so the batteries came into the cabin. It was the only way to move them forward enough. I really didn't want to do it but I had already cracked the landing gear frame work and bent the skids. The bird is heavy for that landing skid design. So I opted to reduce weight.

Good Idea

I will have a look at that.. Can't hurt to get that lead out!!!

Thanks for your suggestions and info.... I agree the LG set up doesn't look like it would handle any heavy landings....

Got my work cut out for me tomorrow!!

I managed to fit my batts under the cabinets floor, these are two 5200mah's and I have some 5500's that fit too. I removed the hump in the cabin because its getting in the way of my scale detailing

I tried it the same way as Emile, but my cabin was complete with seats and IP. I placed the RX pack inside next to the mech's and it was way nose heavy. I was using Pulse 4500's... I didn't want to add tail weight. That was my experience.

Dennis mine is still a bit on the tail heavy side, by the time my cockpit is dine and installed it should be just a tad nose heavy which will be perfect

Stan, your hinges look good. It's really hard to replicate the scale hinges on this bird. They are really thin sheet metal in real life. You'd have to make them out of stainless sheet metal to look 100% the part. As far as the battery placement goes, have you guys ever considered running 3 skinny 4S 5000 packs in series for 12s? Lay them all flat under the floor, side by side.

Emile: Your 350 is looking good mano. Have you decided on a paint scheme yet?

I'm glad to hear the Doc. I would really like to have my cabin complete again. So I'm going to re evaluate it when I put the mech's back in. Thanks.

Barry yes, I've had the scheme chosen from day one, a local ems bird.

I've had slow progress on mine lately, working on a few others and an airplane

Love seeing some 350 action! Keep up the good work! Copter Doctor....what's the N number or serial number of the one you are modeling? Just wondering if it could be one that I built!
