Dear all ,

I am wondering about if going from nitro to electric conversion (my case is Raptor 50 nitro to electric ) , do the original recommended headspeeds in normal mode /idle -ups (say 1550 to 2000 according to manual) remain the same when selecting possible motors and pinions?

Thanks

Do you have an overabundance of spare parts available for your R50 to make that conversion feasible ???

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

There's more than one way to do the conversion so I hope he does it and we get to see and read about it. I have the Quick UK setup for the Raptor 50 but haven't had time to get into another project yet. It looks pretty straight forward. I love when people do the conversions and use the clutch. What a cool sound as they spool up!

If it has the plastic head block and blade grips then yes. If you have upgraded metal head then you can go higher say upto 2200.

Usually the model will be heavier in electric form so you usually go higher on the head speed.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Thanks for the contributors.I get all my parts from Heli Kraft in Taiwan, and there are generic Klone parts too.Very complete and I believe I have multiple copies of most parts!
I also am eyeing on the quick UK electric conversion but am not sure what motor to use ,they recommending the scorpion 890kv,which is costly and hard to find.Anyone have suggestions for a suitable motor on 6s setup?

Align 730mx 850kv would work well.

There's also the newer 960kv version which you could run on 5s.
