I can't say you are wrong, because I can't see into the future. But I do know the past, and I do believe 100% if we withdrawal from Europe, it will become part of the Soviet Union. Dragon on our left, Bear on our right. Would rather square off against one and not both at the same time.

IF it comes to that and I hope to God it does not.

I dwell in the house of wrong and have eaten a lot of crow.

You are correct about the threats to Europe.

My point is the direction Europe has moved and is continuing to move.

Liberalism is the mainstay of Europe and I don't see their changing that direction.

I am concerned the nations we are standing guard over are eroding underneath our feet.

Should Trump decide to stay in NATO, I would insist he stop ALL money going to NATO now.

let me frame this differently...

The UN has turned into a "I have a big friend to fight for me" kinda thing.... and lately its been for free...

NO MORE... pay your bills or fight. no more letting others bleed for you without picking up the check.

the UN has no manageable direction anymore... its really is obsolete. Yet the mega rich manipulate it to get richer at the cost of blood of the ignorant.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

We need to stay in NATO, we just don't need to fund the whole thing.

British 'errant missile' headed toward Florida

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Sunday Times of London reported over the weekend that an unarmed ballistic missile launched from a British submarine last June experienced a malfunction and headed toward Florida rather than toward open waters off the coast of Africa.

A coincidence...I think not...the Brits are still mad about the revolution...we gotta keep an eye on them.

In a Pew survey taken last summer, 77 percent of Germans expressed confidence that President Barack Obama would “do the right thing regarding world affairs,” and 85 percent said they had no confidence in Trump to do the same.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...m=.e46d9353acd5

Like I said before, Trump will try to mend fences with Europe, but I don't believe the leaders of Europe will come around.

We can get people to hate us for "free". We don't have to fund NATO and the UN for people to hate us.

Yes, cut the funds. The UN is no longer a useful entity. As stated by others, it is just a place for stuck up elite politicians from other countries to use as a fat cat vacation away from their suffering countries.
If we don't pull out the at lest cut the funding to be equitable with some small poor African state who's leader is a tyrant.

Just had a quick look at percentage payments to UN budget. USA pays 22%. UK pays 4.463%. USA current population = 318.9 Million.
UK current population = 64.1 Million.
318.9 divided by 64.1 = 4.97 ratio. Multiply 4.97 X 4.463% = 22.18

So don't say UK does not pay its share for Interest look how much India pays to UN.

If it is per capita, China and India should be paying for all of it!

exactly...

its not based on population...its based on a percentage of GDP...

Even then, considering GDP... if they were holding their end of the deal, China alone would likely be funding more than the US as the're GDP is at $15.26 trillion for 2016, exceeding the forecasted U.S. GDP of $15.24 trillion for the very first time (placing the USA in second)....meanwhile Japan’s economy currently ranks third in terms of nominal GDP, Germany ranks as the fourth largest economy in terms of nominal GDP, then the United Kingdom, with a $2.65 trillion GDP, is currently the world’s fifth largest, France, the most visited country in the world, today has the sixth largest economy with a nominal GDP of $2.48 trillion, then India with its nominal GDP puts it in a seventh place with $2.25 trillion, Italy’s $1.8 trillion economy is as of this writing the world’s eighth largest in terms of nominal GDP, Brazil with its $1.77 trillion economy, now ranks as the ninth largest economy by nominal GDP then Canada in tenth place with a nominal GDP of $1.53 trillion

Now Why the F%^K should we be funding nearly a quarter of the UNs stripper/Drug and beer Bill?

dont believe me? look it up.

the UN is just another bureaucracy with its hands in your pockets...

the dog an pony show they put on for the media about all the "good they do" is greatly exaggerated and considering how much money they squander or straight up conveniently lose is a damn bloody crime.

Never said UK didn't pay. As a matter of fact, UK has always done way more than their fair share whether giving aid to poor countries or giving brave soldiers' lives defending the freedoms of others.

The UK payment to the UN only proves the UK is just as big a sucker as the US is.

I'll rest on my statement that we don't have to pay people to hate us. I support the US's dropping all payments to the UN now.

NATO...no. Don't need to repeat myself. We cannot afford to be isolationists again.
It is wrong of the US to force ourselves on other nations. Europe needed our troops after WWII to hold back Stalin.

Europe no longer wants the US...our money yes, but Europe is well capable of raising their taxes to the point of building up a military to hold off Russia.

If Trump decides to stay, he must stop all payments for NATO now. In the age of ballistic missiles, we can strike anywhere.

We have built about 70,000 nukes over the years and it would only take a few (less than 10) to destroy humanity.

So we have the killing power, we just need more delivery systems.

I think Europe needs to step up to the plate if they want the US to stay.

But, I don't thing Europe is interested in defense...they are more headed in the direction of social endeavors such embracing Islam and bringing nations like Turkey into the EU.

If we stay in NATO we are enablers for Europeans to continue to rely on the US instead of building up their own military.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

This I agree with:

I think Europe needs to step up to the plate if they want the US to stay.
