The above video is a good example of anti-American feelings spread through out Europe.

This anti-Americanism has been spread by European leaders before the November election.

At the very least, we should forever stop ALL funding to NATO immediately and require reimbursement.

If lack of funding causes our exit from NATO, then so be it.

I for just leaving NATO.

And even so, Merkle and others on the extreme left are in dire trouble. I get the impression Europeans are as divided to both ends of extreme as we are.

And abandon the UN. Make the UN building a nice hotel.

Don't take it for granted that most people here in the UK hate America. Protestor don't seem to have jobs and therefore have time to protest against whatever is the flavour of the month. The company I worked for 50 years sold to the USA before I started work (1965)and after I left. We also had a small service centre in the USA which employed local American works servicing machines we built in the UK.

Not at all. I have many friends in or from the UK and before I retired I had to travel to the UK periodically.

I understand but remember it was European leaders themselves that characterized Trump as a demagogue and unfit to be our President.

Examples of your UK leadership:

Understand Trump is "Our dog"...he may be ugly, but he is still "Our dog".

Obama treated the UK like crap and the UK seem to be fine with that. Hillary had every intention of continuing Obama's policies and again the UK seemed fine with that.

Trump could have been the greatest ally the UK has ever had, but the UK can't seem to accept him.

Trump will try to reconnect the lost alliance between the UK and the US, but it will never be the same. Many people such as myself will not support Trump if he tries to keep us in NATO.

The UK and the EU seem to be on the pathway to unrestricted immigration of Islam into their countries. That is their right. It is also their right to not accept Trump and the Americans that elected him.

I'm ready to drop NATO now.

DB, I'd like to see us pull out of NATO, AND bulldoze the UN "campus" into the Atlantic Ocean. Along with that, give UN "ambassadors" 48 hours to be out of our country. Enough with the global corruption already.

agree... the UN is nothing but a gathering of b!tchy foreigners with their hands in our wallet.

We dont need them... never did. Hell we are funding 25% of it. Nothing ever happens at the UN that has any "consequences"... all they ever do is "condemn" stuff... but never do anything other than act like Pouting, sulking and whining children when they dont get the free stuff we pay for.

At the very least I feel we should stop all funding FOREVER to the UN right now.

If that is not agreeable to the UN, then a quick invite for them to leave the country is in order...30 days max.

Looking at the news items you have posted I can see your point. But I can assure you that the majority feeling may be a little different. Look at our vote on Europe, when people were allow to express their true feelings without being censored see which way it went. Don't believe our assume the politician speak on our behalf or share our views.

History folks, history. UN, I couldn't give a d@mn about. But pulling out of NATO just invites HISTORY to repeat itself.

Now as for compensation, yes, we should by all means be reimbursed/compensated for being a member. That I do agree with.

Let each pay their own way in NATO or toss them out. The UN is a pimple on the USA's backside that needs to be lanced and drained.

Ask yourself what the UN has done lately... then research what the designated purpose of the UN was originally...

you will quickly determine that it is obsolete given todays technology and how the economy is connected and that it has done very little to foster anything it was designed to do.

The UN Charter sets out four main purposes:

1-Maintaining worldwide peace and security
2-Developing relations among nations
3-Fostering cooperation between nations in order to solve economic, social,
cultural, or humanitarian international problems
4-Providing a forum for bringing countries together to meet the UN's purposes and goals

Now what has it done since?

1.) Fail.... just look at the middle east and terrorist attacks around the world, and violence and aggression.
2.) Fail.... look at how they talk about our ELECTED pres, illegal immigration, no-extradition, then have the audacity to judge our decisions based on their desires/needs.
3.) Fail.... Look at all the currency manipulation, human rights violations, gov thievery of peoples land and wealth and information (intellectual property)
4.) Fail.... Technology has reached the point that physically meeting in the US is obsolete... all they do is come over (At our expense), b!tch, then go visit all the strip clubs and hookers and drug dealers in the area (Proven BTW, then cry about how immoral we are )...dont the tards know about "telecommuting"?

Say what you want. But NATO, and more accurately, the threat of its presence, has kept the Bear at bay. Has the Bear flexed it paws? Sure. But NATO has set out to do what it was intended to do.

Post all you want. HISTORY will repeat itself if NATO is dissolved. We are a world leader for a reason. I didn't say police either for reason.

I don't drink the kookl-aid, nor do I give in to the 'populist' beliefs.

The peace has been kept...though there have been fleeting moments.

Dissolve it and see what happens. And yes, us leaving it will effectively dissolve it.

seriously... history will repeat itself with or without NATO...

secondly... NATO and the UN are two different things that overlap slightly...
The UN comprises almost 200 countries from all continents...
NATO has only 28 members, all in Europe and North America

c'mon dude... read.

SIG,
I agree with you about NATO. When a nation joins NATO it effectively thumbs it's nose at the bear and says "I'm not coming back and don't you dare invade me or my buddies will beat you up."
It's kind of a gang mentality, join and other members will help protect you, a type of one for all and all for one.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

one for all and all for one.
I guess that's what I'm driving at (the opposite direction).

The one for all and all for one seems to apply as far as Europe is concerned about our protecting them, but Europe is becoming more openly hostile (government and the street) to the US.

Europe was greatly aided by the US after WWII to rebuild and our forces were needed to keep the Soviet Union at bay.

As for as the UK is concerned, look the vote in the UN. Trump was opposed to this and the UK knew it, but they voted against the US anyway.

Sorry, the EU and the UK will not support the US and I don't feel the need to continue to subsidize the cost of their defense.

Both my wife and I have the lineage straight to the UK. We have been traveling to Europe since the early 70's. This spring, we had stop overs in France, Portugal, and Spain that finished with 8 days in London.

We love Europe and especially England. My son played soccer as a youth in Portsmouth.

But Europe is changing and I am looking at a view that spans about 40 years...and I never seen the open hostility from the UK toward the US that I'm seeing now.

Trump has deep ties to the UK and he will do everything he can to mend fences, but I don't see that happening. The UK knew Trump was going to be our President and they voted against the US in the UN anyway.

If Trump decides to stay in NATO, I insist the US forever drop all funding. Europe can raise their taxes to cover the costs.

Ten years ago, you were 100% correct.

I believe ten years in the future will prove you wrong in the fact that Europe is eroding from within...there won't be a Europe to protect.
