Last time I was here. I was in high school and I really wanted
a heli. Now 6 yrs later. In the military and married. I bought a used raptor 30. Realized thunder tiger no longer makes it but I can still find parts. I love the thing. Got a few flights under my belt. Still working on hovering at different orientations. Been working on the sim. I'm already thinking about a
second heli. So bottom line, thanks for the advice that I've gotten on here as a young teen. Anyone in Jacksonville Fl?

Uggh an Ordie....

If the grumpy old guys give you any lip at flying a heli out there bring it out to Jax RC http://www.jaxrc.com

We have a separate flight line for helis and quads

Clay County Flyers back by the Sleep Hollow land fill have a couple of heli guys as well.

Welcome back!!!

Good decision on the SIM
- learn what controls does what
- practice patterns and circuits
- move the heli around in both directions
- fly around to develope smooth precise inputs, jumping into smack 3D causes you to bangs the sticks and develope not so good tendencies

As far as equipment
- use what you got for now
- I would suggest 2 BNF and 1 spare airframe for parts
- all three airframes of the same kind (to make learning & parts easier)
- it's real easy to hoard and get out of control
- look into Mikado Logo 500

BTW
It's great we're using punctuation, grammar and spelling. Proper communication is the key.

Hey Andy are they still flying helis out at JaxRC. last couple of times I have been out there it was only quad guys out there. just seems like attendance has dwindled a lot in the last couple years. I also need to get my AMA back so I can go back out there and fly I miss it a lot.

Trying not to put them in the dirt.

Seems like the norm, quad FPV guys are the ones flying always at our field ....

Few heli pilots, hope the summer brings them out.
