if you used a Z-bend tool to build your heli linkages.
I still have my Z-Bender

I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

Stick and tissue

In 1974 I was throwing paper helicopters out of my parents' apartment window. That year my dad taught me to fly r/c with a Graupner Middle Stick and a brand new Futaba 4 channel Digital Proportional System. A year later, he got me an MK Super Sicroly after he met Hanno Prettner.

That had an engine facing up you started it and walked away and it went up. Till it ran out of gass. Then it counter rotated down. No radio no control.

When your first transmitter had an on/off switch and a pushbutton. Your first "servo" was powered by a rubber band

Yep, we called it an escapement, and if you didn't wind the rubber band, alas, no control, even though it was only right or left with no proportional control.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

And no control if the rubber band ran out before your fuel.

Let's see, you have been on RR for only 13 years but your first heli experience was watching Mike Mas practice inverted landings.

And your AMA number is 52####.

I give up on Loctite, nothing lasts long enough to vibrate loose anymore.

When you mail ordered from Americas Hobby Center in New York and your Comet model took forever to get to you.

I waited 3months to get a Cox .020 from them. Imagine the furor on the forums with delivery times like that!

1) You started when 27.255 MHz was the ONLY RC channel.

2) Your RX and TX had at least one vacuum tube.

3) You know what reeds are.

You young kids should check out some of this stuff:

My first heli - a used deal - came with an articulated trainer stand for hover training & you had to put a CBS block on it to hold it down - don't recall its name but it was way too much for me then.

Inverted IS more fun!

Perhaps it was a Whiteman training stand.
