Macy’s, the department store chain, is ending its relationship with Mr. Trump and phasing out his line of suits, shirts and ties after remarks he made about Mexican immigrants.

In unrelated news:

Macy's cutting 6,200 jobs, closing 68 stores

After seeing sales drop during the holidays, Macy's said Wednesday it has either closed or will shutter 68 stores and cut an additional 6,200 positions.

The locations span the country, from Florida to Oregon.

7/1/15 The decision (to drop DT) comes as Macy’s has made a big push to court Hispanic shoppers, launching a new line of apparel, shoes and jewelry earlier this year with Thalía Sodi, a Mexican pop star.
So Macys, how that decision working out for you.

Now let me see DT is the President elect, and Macys is closing stores.

If Macys closed every door they had it wouldn't bother me except for the loss of jobs, that I would regret.

Maybe Macys started selling those crazy elf-toed mexican cowboy boots?

Honestly though, it sucks that retail is struggling. Consumer activity is the only segment of the ecconomy that was holding us out of a recession for most of 2016.

Maybe they would have better luck selling their overpriced crap south of the border?

Now there's a thought I like. Never shop there so no great loss. Sorry for the jobs lost due to their bad choices. Must be a liberal run company.

I'll be interesting to see if they can turn it around or not.

Some companies are able to bob and weave and adjust and come up winners...some aren't so luckly.

I can think of big companies that were on top and then ***BOOM*** they were out of business. Woolco was big before Walmart.

A number of the stores are in towns/areas that have become combat zones . . . probably best to close no matter what, since they may well lose as much to theft as they sell . . .
