No I'm using 6S

I always change my esc on my 450L
Usually I would recommend to use CC edge 50HV. If fits perfect on a 450L even using a speed canopy. But now I would recommend a HobbyWing Platinum 60A V4. Hands down a much better ESC. Both have signal for RPM, but hobby wing is free wheeling. Runs so much cooler ,more efficent, smaller foot print and cheaper. The talon 35 is too small for 450L.

If you want to cheap out a little the HobbyWing 50A V3 will also work very well but it doesn't have RPM out if you want to use an external governor.

The HW 50 and 60 are the same size.

Going 6S in terms of current requirements is kinder to the electronics.

Look at the price jump with some ESCs going from say 100A to 130 or 160.

Does the Hobby Wing do any of the data logging the Castle ESC does?

Not as many data points as CC. They are working a more advanced logs. BTW do you know what active freewheeling is ?

That is one use case.

Anyways CC will run hotter unless you push the ESC to it limits. Hobby Wing is similar to Kontonic or YGE. Depending on your flying style you can get better flite times.
