Thank you Gary for your input - very much appreciated! I think however that the point of my build has gotten lost in translation, so-to-speak. Let me recap... once I get the E7SE built and flying with the KDE 455KV motor on 12S (for about a year-I think) it will go into an Airwolf fuselage and will turn into a scale heli using the same equipment. I know that's not the suggested method, but these aren't conventional times! That's the main reason I've been trying to understand all these parts that make the whole and focus on a low headspeed.

I understand the point of the build. Just my opinion that the high KV is kind of a waste and ineffient compared to going with a lower kv motor, and also a smaller lighter motor. You could easily do what you want, without overworking anything, and save a half pound in motor weight.

What you're suggesting will certainly work, I just like to optimize as much as possible.

My KDE 700XF-455-G3-S6XL arrived today!
I hear you Gary, and raise you one! Here's my question. Once Airwolf has come to life and is completed it'll probably weight 2-3x what the stock setup weights (guessing). With the same equipment as previously mentioned can't I just get a wider chord blade to give me more lift if needed, without changing the head speed? Are the stock E7SE blades wide enough?
Also, would using something like you spoke about - 400KV - give me enough room to get out of trouble if needed? I'm not proficient at flying yet, I'm still a beginner to intermediate. I don't like to make mistakes and crash so I take it super slow.

it should be plenty. This isn't in a fuselage, but it's a big heavy machine, an 800, running 1100rpms, with the 400kv hacker, which is about 200 grams (almost half a pound) smaller/lighter than what you're thinking of.
