So you run all your household appliances at 90 percent of their rated voltage? Or you use a 10 volt battery to start your car?

The 9254 is quite happy at 5.8 volts. Running it there won't kill it and won't shorten its life. Mine ran that way for years without a hitch.

I guess one needs to do whatever they feel comfortable with . There is no totally right or wrong methods, usually.....
