I bought in a Jetcat/Vario, it has been laying around for a long time
The fuel had evaporated, leaving this tar substance inside the fuel tubes
The new fuel softened it enough to block the filter and starve the turbine of fuel
I had re plumbed from the header tank to the turbine, should have replaced all the fuel tube, clunks and filters
Just a heads up to check everything on a second hand purchase

Just a heads up to check everything on a second hand purchase
anything I bought used I always dismantle the kit back to pieces and reassemble > EVERYTHING <

I suggest you do the same who knows what is missing loc-tite or what is about to break or worn out.

spending time, paying attention

re-building

I have just spent 2 weeks solid (I am retired) stripping, upgrading and rebuilding a Vario Schweizer, built but never flown
every nut and bolt has been taken out, replaced with locking washers under the heads, followed by plate washer then thread locked
May seem over the top but at a glance I can see that each bolt has been re assembled

tank holder

The tank support, on this rebuild, could not stand any more repairs,
saturated with old fuel, glues would not hold it together

The laser cutter is a handy tool to have access to

Sides are cut in pairs

Dry fit

Check that the tank fits, after glueing

rub down and 2 coats of satin black,
