You have no choice in the matter.

Yeah, flying one handed would be rough! You need that one that you fly with your thoughts!

Reductions in Social Security

Bottom Line: "Histories Greatest Generation" took/takes more out of the till than they ever put in. Somebody has to make up the difference and putting 80yo grandpa back to work does not make sense.

Congress is not willing to make the hard choices necessary to put SS on a proper foundation. Kick the can down the street. That big pile of IOUs is about to crash down on us all.

You gotta watch Democrats when they introduce a bill in Congress.

Average of a male was 61 when they started SS. Retirement was 62.

It was a money making scheme.

Poor Bernie...still loony as ever.

The problem with Bernie's little idea is it just kicks the can further down the road.

It is projected that in the year 2020 the SS will start drawing from its reserves and will have used up all the reserves by 2033 and not be able to issue checks unless something is done now.

The whole system needs to be revamped now such that is will be sustainable in the future.

But I'm sure a bunch of politicians in DC will come up a lot of great ideas that will solve all the SS problems.

Reserves... what reserves? there is no pile of social security money stashed in a vault someplace. The money is coming right out of IRS taxes paid in.

Dilbert, the answer is simple. Don't try and complicate it.

The solution is simple. Make the retirement age higher than the weighted average lifespan. Cuts expences quite a lot. Anyone who lives long enough gets free catfood for life!

That's the way it was originally set up. Males only lived to age 61 on average. Retirement age was 62...bingo...a money maker.

Stay away from crazy Bernie's ideas...the man is a loon.

Example:
Sanders blasts Trump's 'rigged Cabinet' in tweetstorm

http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-acti...-rigged-cabinet
Old Bernie wants to be upset about Trump's rigged cabinet, but yet he didn't say jack about Hillary and the DNC rigging him out his chance to run.

He should be jumping up and down every day about how he was robbed by Hillary and the DNC, but he is not...because he is part of the problem.

...and those who live long enough still get a raw deal.

https://financialmentor.com/calcula...rest-calculator

Run the numbers yourself, the average guy should have more than a million if SS taxes had been invested. That buys a hell of a nice annuity... Don't fix the system, end it.
