Anyone have a 13T /14T Raptor 90 pinion gear they could part with? I converted my 90 to a LHS bird but my headspeed is alittle too low. I need to get a couple hundred rpm more.

It's not a nitro. I converted it to electric. And yes it's a straight tooth gear. I think it's mod 1.

For everyone's info, I made a high ratio drive for Carey Shurley's gasoline Rapter. He was doing the same thing, trying to up the engine speed, while lowering the head speed since gas engines run much lower RPM than nitro.

I can only get around 1300 rpm with the gov. Just need to bump it up to mid 1500's.

My motors kv is 500. That 15T would give me 1790 with my 6s lipos. If you can part with it I'll try it. It'll give me plenty of headroom on my esc.

John, that's an old raptor 90, not a G4 version like I flew, and Carey flew with the GT15 gasser.

What is the maingear toothcount that the 15T will mate with?

1790 on 6s in a 700 is going to be very innefficient. probably get pretty hot on the components. 1000 to 1200 should be a reasonable expectation. Going higher in revs, the power required goes up exponentially. for example, the power required to turn 1800 is close to 3 times the power required to turn 1000.

In your example, going from 1300 to 1500 requires 24% more power.

Headspeed
