There must be a hobby place that sells carbon fiber rods/strips/sheets similar to K&S brass stock ?

Looking for 1/16 x 1/2 or 2mm x 12mm strips.

A lot of that in the RC section of eBay.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

This looks good. Thanks guys.

Reinforce the lower frame rails on my XCell 46 graphite. They keep vibration cracking. They don't make them anymore ! But I still have two more sets.

Someone out there makes carbon 90 d stock. Weave formed in a 90, not simple linear material. MA had them as an upgrade for the Pro's ali lower frame rails. I doubt the stock was custom made.

Edit: Hell Richard, Ron Lund has 10 sets in stock for 70% off! Just type "rails" into the search engine. Cut to length and drill some holes and never crack a rail again.

Mike,

I think that angle material is plain linear carbon like the tubes and flat stock, which means it would probably fracture along the long axis of the angle. The stuff MA used was carbon weave/resin formed into a well-radiused 90d angle.

Not exactly the correct size and since the frame is more than 6 inches I would need $120 worth of it. But the right idea.

Find similar pieces from another heli and bore some extra holes ?

In addition to CST Sales there is also ACP composites

http://www.acpsales.com/OnlineStore.php?cat=

Hobby sized quantities of certain items are sold by some of the regular vendors we use. Central Hobbies has rods in all sizes. Dave Brown sells carbon tow (tape) in small quantitites for use in making reinforcements on airplane projects, etc..
