I have a Koby 40 in a warp 360. I previously had a Gpro and just switched to an ebar, so now the esc is plugged directly into a spektrum receiver(dx7 se radio). On one of the successful arm attempts I went through the programming in the esc and set it to mode 4. However, it only arms on about every 5th try. With the esc plugged into the Gpro I never had this problem. The bec circuit always works, servos power up and the ebar inits. Any ideas?

Thanks
Jason

So after playing with this more I've noticed something.. The receiver(ar7610) doesn't always connect immediatly, sometimes take a few seconds for the orange light to come on, this seems to be when the esc doesn't arm. Does that make sense, should that effect the Koby arming process?

Preload power and if it works then the delay from when power is connected and unit sees power is too long . Preload is if you connect power shortly and disconnect reconnecting after short disconnect.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

It does not surprise me. Kontronik esc's are fussy in a good way about not arming unless the radio is fully initialized.

I presume you did mode 1 and then mode 4, right?

The other thing that could yield fussy arming is if the throttle pot is not repeatedly outputting the same low stick pulse the esc learned during initial set up. I doubt you have a pot that bad, but it is possible.
